Associate Pastor of Students

Broken Arrow is situated in the NE part of Oklahoma and is the 4th most populace city in OK and is connected to Tulsa (the 2nd largest city). Broken Arrow is home to the largest non-virtual high school in the state. Our city is continuing to grow and the opportunity to reach families and students is central to our Great Commandment calling. Our student ministry has a strong foundation and is looking for a leader to give vision and direction as we reach this community with the Gospel.

Overview

The Student Pastor is responsible for facilitating the spiritual growth of our students through the areas of discipleship, fellowship, evangelism, service, and missions.

The Student Pastor should align ministry objectives with the purpose of Aspen Park Baptist Church – “Pursuing God by Equipping the Church to Reach the World”

The Student Pastor is responsible to the Lead Pastor.

Requirements

• Born-again fruit-producing believer

• Undergraduate degree in process or concluded is required

• Seminary is highly regarded

• Calling demonstrated through ministry experience

Skills

• Commitment to excellence in ministry, eager to engage new ways to reach students

• Proficiency in technology to reach students (including social media)

• Excellent communication skills (written/verbal), building trust with students

• Passionate in sharing biblical, gospel-centered truth to students

Responsibilities

• Pray for the students and the ministry

• Teach God’s Word – design, oversee, and examine curriculum for students

• Create safe and welcoming environments

• Facilitate student discipleship

• Engaging with students during Sunday worship

• Build a leadership team

• Build relationships with families

• Connect with local schools and community organizations

• Connect the student ministry to the whole church

• Plan, supervise, and evaluate camps, retreats, and programs

• Have Fun

Staff Expectations

• Cooperate with staff to assist in achieving church vision and missions.

• Develop an annual budget for student ministry and submit by August 31

• Attend and participate in staff meetings.

• Partner with other ministries in the church to achieve the church’s mission.

• Perform other duties as assigned by the Lead Pastor.
