First Baptist is a growing church with many young families. Our church is a theologically conservative church with an emphasis on making authentic disciples, reaching the world for Christ, and serving the community. Our worship services are led by a praise band and praise singers. Most of our music is contemporary blended with some traditional music.

The Associate Pastor of Worship has pastoral duties and oversees all aspects of the worship services, including practices, enlistment, technology and more. We are seeking a candidate who is skilled in music, leading a praise band, and has the ability to lead and direct other special services and events.

First Baptist Church is located in the county seat of Dillon. The heart of First Baptist Church is to "Inspire People to Become Authentic Followers of Jesus Christ." One recent member stated, "Many churches claim to be about making disciples, but First Baptist Church of Dillon is about making disciples." Traditionally and currently, First Baptist Church trains and equips people for life and ministry through Scripture. We use worship services, sermons, Connect Groups (Sunday School), small group Bible studies, and special emphases as part of our discipleship strategy. We also urge people to get involved in serving in the church and in missions. In the last several years, First Baptist has experienced growth, particularly with young families. In 2021, there were twenty babies born into the church.

Others describe First Baptist as a family church, meaning it's literally a family. We've been blessed in recent years to assimilate new families into the church. One couple who drives 30 miles to attend stated, "There is authentic community at First Baptist." First Baptist has a culture of loving and serving people.

First Baptist Church is a wonderful church with a history of having long-term staff members, which is rare in the church culture today. Currently, there's an average of 280 people in worship on Sunday mornings. We have an AWANA ministry for children, as well as children's choir. Our youth ministry is led by a wonderful lay couple who have passion for leading teens to Christ and discipling them in Scripture.
