Job Title: Media Associate

Supervisor: Media Director

Position: Level 3 –Associate (Part-Time Position, 20 hours a week)


SUMMARY

The Media Associate will assist the Creative Arts & Worship Team as they fulfill the mission of Second Baptist Church in its vision to become Kingdom First | Second Strong.

The Media Associate will be responsible for all aspects of media support including audio, visual, and lighting production.


OVERVIEW

The Media Associate will help the Media Director & Executive Team Members ensure that the ministries of Second Baptist are effective in ministry and that the congregation is connecting with one another, building community, and experiencing spiritual development through a strong, healthy, and growing Kingdom First; Second Strong ministry. This includes developing and executing the media ministry, identifying and recruiting leaders, developing volunteers, and ongoing leadership and coaching of group leaders and coaches. This position will help the media ministry teams foster a quality production and healthy experience.

QUALIFICATIONS AND CHARACTER TRAITS:

  1. The Media Associate should love Jesus with all their heart, should maintain healthy relationships within the Creative Arts & Worship Team and have a love for reaching those outside our faith.
  2. The Media Associate should be a creative, organized individual with strong computer and technical skills.
  3. The Media Associate should be able to work on projects and work independently.
  4. The Media Associate is preferred to have a college degree, but not required.


RESPONSIBLITIES:

  1. Assisting in sound, lighting, presentation tools and front of house operations for all Children’s Ministry programing and other worship venues within the Church.
  2. Help install new audio/visual equipment.
  3. Provide routine maintenance and repair work on audio/visual equipment.
  4. Assist with audio/visual support to ministries of the church as needed outside of
  5. Children’s Ministry
  6. Responsible for all technical aspects of programs conducted in the Children’s Ministry
  7. (i.e. Second Generation, Generations 412, Kids Kamp, New Believer’s Class, special
  8. events, etc.) including all lighting, PPT, LED digital walls, animatronic and sound needs
  9. Design and/or update Power Point for Second Generation, or events held in Second
  10. Generation area
  11. Link all Power Point slides to be used in Sunday’s large group sessions in time for
  12. Wednesday evening’s rehearsal
  13. Link or burn all CDs needed for Wednesday night rehearsal and Sunday morning
  14. performances
  15. Maintain good working condition of all technical equipment including power supply and
  16. cables
  17. Maintain and keep organized both the tech closet and tech booth
  18. Schedule Tech Team rotations
  19. Supervise Tech Team rehearsal each Wednesday night
  20. Understand the working of all technical equipment and be able to trouble shoot Power
  21. Point, sound, lights, projection system, etc. problems
  22. Manage all Second Generation files on computer
  23. Power up and shut down all equipment
  24. Help with set design in regards to lighting/sound and other technical needs
  25. Consistently update computer
  26. Schedule and train new Tech Team members.
  27. Find substitutes for absent Tech Team members.
  28. Program animatronics for animatronic characters
  29. Provide Technical Support as needed for Wednesday Gen 412 Large Groups
  30. Other duties as assigned.


ADDITIONAL CONSIDERATIONS:

Must be able to work a flexible schedule that would include non-business hours.


Required Schedule of 16 hours minimum a week:

Sunday

8:15-11:45 am 1:30-5:30 pm 4:00-8:30 pm 1:00-5:00 pm

Wednesday

Thursday

*Additional 4 hours a week available
