The Worship Director leads Celebration International Church (CIC) in authentic, Spirit-led worship through music. Serving part-time, this role focuses on preparing and leading weekly worship services, developing volunteer musicians and vocalists, and collaborating with the Lead Pastor to ensure worship aligns with the church’s message and vision.
Duties
- Plan and lead worship for Sunday services and select special events, creating a spiritually engaging and meaningful experience for the congregation.
- Provide input on song selection and service flow as requested by the Lead Pastor.
- Promote an inter-generational and culturally diverse worship atmosphere through music selection, sounds, etc.
- Participate in staff or service planning meetings as requested by the Lead Pastor to ensure worship aligns with the overall direction of services and ministry seasons.
- Recruit and develop volunteer worship team members.
- Encourage the spiritual and musical growth of worship team members.
- Oversee Planning Center scheduling and song resources.
- Coordinate and lead rehearsals with musicians, vocalists, and other worship team members to ensure a polished and synchronized performance.
- Coordinate with audio and media volunteers to support a distraction-free worship environment.
- Expand musical repertoire and skillset to bring variety and excellence to worship services.
- Stay aware of worship music trends as able.
- Occasionally provide limited coaching or support to worship efforts within other CIC ministries at the request of the Lead Pastor, without direct oversight responsibilities for those teams.
- This role averages 10–15 hours per week, including Sunday services, one rehearsal, and planning.
- This agreement is subject to annual review by the Lead Pastor to ensure continued alignment with CIC’s mission, vision, and ministry needs.
Skills
- Ability to inspire and engage the congregation in worship.
- Basic familiarity with worship related technology including sound, computers, ProPresenter, Planning Center, MultiTracks, etc.
- Skilled in vocal and instrumental direction.
- Flexibility and creative thinking.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise professional discernment.
- A positive attitude and excellent interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work well as part of a team and maintain loyalty to CIC and its staff.

- Be a covenant member of CIC.
- Musical proficiency or relevant experience preferred.
