Job Title: Discipleship Pastor

Reports To: Lead Pastor, Revive Church

Status: Full-time

Schedule: Sunday—Thursday, with occasional evening and weekend responsibilities.

Hiring Range: $70,000+ (DOE)

We are dedicated to creating space for God to revive people and places for His glory and equipping our members to show God’s reviving presence where they live, work, and play. In 2020, we purchased the 115,000 square foot mixed use center where we are located as part of a long-range vision God had been preparing for us. This purchase allowed us to create The Bridge.

Position Summary:

The Discipleship Pastor provides direction for spiritual formation, oversees the Revive Groups ministry, supervises the directors of adult ministries, supports weekend teaching and serves on the Pastoral Leadership Team.

Key Responsibilities:

This position leads the development and implementation of discipleship opportunities.

·        Champions the holistic disciple making culture.

·        Designs and implements growth opportunities for the congregation that promote growth in the 7 Marks of a Jesus-Follower, the 5 Values of Revive Church and other discipleship initiatives.

·        Coordinates with Lead Pastor and Next Gen Pastor in the development of discipleship churchwide.

·        Develops teams of staff and volunteer teachers that make spiritual formation opportunities sustainable and effective.

·        Preaches and teaches in various spaces on a regular basis (e.g., Sunday morning gathering, men’s events, new member gatherings, etc.).

·        Facilitates spiritual formation opportunities in collaboration with ministry partners in The Bridge, and particularly with respect to CrossPurpose (www.crosspurpose.org).

Adult Ministry Leadership

·        Provide strategic leadership for Revive Groups and Adult ministries.

·        Collaborate with staff and volunteer ministry leaders to develop and implement annual ministry plans.

·        Develop and oversee Revive Groups leadership.

o  Resource group leaders with options for group studies and discussions.

o  Manage and maintain onboarding and development of group leaders.

·        Facilitate the flow of communication related to groups and ministries to communications staff.

Weekend Message and Service Support

·        Provide regular input on weekend messages and series.

·        Create or oversee the creation of related curriculum as needed.

Position-specific Qualifications:

·        Relevant master’s degree or Ph.D.

·        3-5 years of related ministry experience.

·        Proven leader of small group ministry in a church of 500 or more attenders.

·        Demonstrated leadership of church volunteers and staff.

·        Ability to develop teams and leaders.

·        Effective Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills, enabling clear and respectful interaction with fellow church members, visitors, and the wider community.

·        Professionalism: A professional demeanor and attitude in representing the church, both within and outside the church community.

·        Team Player: An ability to work well within a team and collaborate with church staff, volunteers, and members.

·        Worship Participation: Regular attendance and active participation in church worship services and activities.

The Bridge is part of Revive Church Colorado located at 8270 W. 80th Avenue, Arvada, CO. Physically, The Bridge is a 115,000 square foot mixed use center owned by Revive Church. The Vision for The Bridge is the peace and prosperity of our city through a community in which motivated individuals and families have practical access to the resources they need to thrive. The concept for The Bridge is to create a purpose-driven ecosystem designed to 1) offer mission-driven organizations an affordable, attractive, collaborative location to deliver services to the community, and 2) provide the community with access to a variety of resources and services aimed at helping vulnerable and motivated individuals/families transcend poverty — all in a convenient, inviting, single physical location. Current Bridge partners include Lionheart Children’s Academy, Global Thrift, Haven’s Hope, Packs of Hope, Colorado Foundation for Conductive Education, the Primary Purpose Club, and a Food Pantry. Future Bridge partners include CrossPurpose (workforce development) and BeyondHome (affordable housing for hard-working families leading to self-reliance). The Bridge will add more partners as the community invites it to help provide additional services and based in part on information gathered by the Bridge Reference Director.
