This role entails planning and executing programs for 6th - 12th grade students. In order to do this, you will engage and connect with the community in and around Universal City and embody the vision and mission of Grace Community Church. Specifically, you will focus on building leadership teams for Student ministry. You will also be a part of community events, and partner with the parents of Grace Community to help lead the next generation.

CHURCH OVERVIEW:

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead out vision, mission, and 5 core values of Grace Community Church.
  • Carry out the vision and strategy for Grace Student Ministry through programs, relationships, and community involvement.  
  • Multiply ministry by recruiting, onboarding, equipping, empowering, caring for, and releasing leaders. Though this is primarily relational, it also includes managing and maintaining the systems and programs that allow for this. 
  • Collaborate with the Family Ministry Team to form and maintain effective and essential practices.
  • Organize and champion effective, clear, and consistent small group environments with excellence. 
  • Organize and champion effective, clear, and consistent large group environments with excellence.
  • Form clear and consistent communication with leaders, parents, and family ministry team
  • Organize and champion effective, clear, and exciting Student activities, Camps and Retreats
  • Prioritize the implementation and oversight of health and safety procedures
  • *Participate in general pastoral work, including visitations, crisis counseling, weddings, funerals, outreach, sermons, and other work as needed*
  • Challenge, equip, and empower each student to lead and serve. Build student-led ministry teams where students will find and have ownership and belonging.
  • Prioritize and build relationships with students in the area by attending local sporting events, school functions, performances, assemblies, etc. 
  • Build relationships and partnerships with schools through service and prayer. 


Other Functions:

  • Participate in other Family Ministry functions outside of your specific area.
  • Assist in the oversight of the Family Ministry First Impressions Team.
  • Attend regular meetings with the Family Pastor.
  • Attend regular all staff meetings.


JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A calling into full-time ministry. 
  • 2-5 years experience working with students. 
  • Experience recruiting and leading a group of volunteers.
  • Must work well in a team environment.
  • Must be able and willing to uphold and cast the vision, mission and strategy of Grace Community Church and the Family Ministry.
  • Must be willing to live out the 5 core values of Grace and adhere to Staff commitments outlined in the Staff Handbook.
  • Must be available to be in office each day during the week.
  • Must be flexible, teachable and highly organized. 
  • *Pastoral designation is dependent upon previously ordained and qualified candidate*

  • Ministry health: This involves a focus on personal development, as well as the creation and implementation of ministry plans and processes. It requires self-improvement and evaluation to ensure that the ministry is healthy. 
  • Living out the vision of Grace Community: This role requires a deep understanding and commitment to the vision of the church. The individual will be expected to embody the church's values in all actions and decisions, and inspire others to do the same. This includes participating in church activities, engaging with the church community, and advocating for the church's vision in external interactions.

The candidate must demonstrate high character, exemplifying ethical behavior and strong moral judgment in all situations. BENEFITS:

  • Expected Salary Range - $40,000 - $50,000 annually
  • This is a full-time position requiring a commitment of at least 40 hours per week, including Sundays.
