ABOUT THE POSITION
The Worship Pastor will oversee and lead a worship team to guide the congregation in worship services and special programs, coordinating all service details based on the theme and overall direction established by the Senior Pastor. He must be creative, passionate, and a visionary in leading people to God after the pattern of our mission statement. The Worship Pastor will be a team-builder with communication and interpersonal skills developing a disciple-making culture within the worship team. The position is pastoral, requiring service, not solely in leading the music ministry, but also as a spiritually mature shepherd to the people of Central.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES
1. Support the Lead Pastor in the accomplishment of the church’s mission and direction
2. Create and lead weekend and special event worship music as the worship leader
3. Provide oversight of all technical aspects of audio and video for worship services and live-streaming
4. Assist with overall shepherding of the congregation as part of the pastoral leadership team
5. Oversee special events by scheduling, organizing necessary teams, and coordinating with guest speakers and musicians
6. Recruit, develop, schedule, and equip ministry volunteers to serve in the worship and tech teams
7. Coordinate the purchase of music, supplies, materials, and equipment needed to equip the ministry
8. Ensure proper function of instruments, lighting, sound system, computers, and software including maintenance and replacement
9. Additional experience in developing and implementing a communication strategy to inform the congregation through social media and website
10. Serve in a variety of other ministries as the Lord leads
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
1. Experience in worship leadership
2. Ordained pastor or minister of the gospel (preferred)
3. Ministry training such as Seminary, college, etc. (preferred)
4. Demonstrate experience in managing and discipling teams
5. Able to work among and lead a multi-generational congregation and ministry team
6. Passion for God’s Word, prayer, disciple-making, global missions and local evangelism
7. Skilled in vocals and a musical instrument is required
8. Be skilled and well-versed in a variety of music styles and genres across all generations
9. Affirm the Baptist Faith and Message 2000
