Minister of Music/Media

About the Position

The Worship Pastor will provide spiritual leadership and oversight for the worship and music ministry of the church. This role is responsible for planning, coordinating, and leading Christ-centered, Spirit-led worship that encourages the congregation to glorify God and grow in their relationship with Him. Working with other staff members and supporting the overall direction of the church leadership is critical.

Job Responsibilities & Duties

Worship Leadership

• Lead the congregation in authentic worship during Sunday services and other church gatherings.
• Plan, prepare, and coordinate worship services in collaboration with the Senior Pastor.
• Select songs that align with Scripture, Baptist doctrine, and the church’s vision.
• Incorporate a blend of traditional hymns with contemporary worship music as appropriate. Using hymns in fresh ways and using more recent contemporary music should be the norm.

Team Development

• Recruit, train, and shepherd worship team members. (Musicians, vocalists, and technical volunteers/staff).
• Schedule and lead rehearsals with excellence and efficiency.
• Encourage spiritual growth and unity within the worship ministry team.

Pastoral Ministry

• Assist the Senior Pastor in pastoral care as it relates to the overall care of the church family.
• Model Christ-like character and servant leadership in all areas of ministry.
• Support community events as it relates to reaching our community.

Media/Administrative Duties

• Manage worship ministry budget, equipment, and resources.
• Over see audio/visual technology and volunteers/staff for services.
• Regularly view church Website/Facebook page for excellence.
• Develop ongoing vision collaboration with Senior Pastor for social media presence.

General Requirements

• A clear testimony of faith in Jesus Christ and a lifestyle that reflects the Gospel.
• Agreement with the 2000 Baptist Faith and Message.
• Demonstrated ability in vocal and instrumental music, with skill in leading a choir and in congregational worship.
• A heart for God and a love for people.
• Humility, integrity, and a servant-leader spirit.
• Creative adaptable, teachable, and dependable.
• Passionate about seeing people encounter God through worship.
• Uses great discretion in counseling situations and social media.
• Provides an inviting environment for the music ministry.
• Gives financially-tithe/offerings.
• Formal education.
• TEAM spirit and practice.
