BACKGROUND
Oakland City Church (OCC) consists of “people who don’t belong together gathered around Jesus for the sake of those who don’t belong”. OCC lives on the corner of Coolidge and MacArthur with a congregation of 100 who worship together each Sunday at 9:30 AM. We work to live into our calling to be a church that reflects the diversity and promise of scripture, Oakland, and beyond. We encourage members of the BIPOC, LGBTQIA+, and all Oakland communities to apply, even if you do not meet all of the requirements.
Oakland City Church uses the Godly Play curriculum as a foundation of Children's Worship, but freely adapts and adjusts these tools to suit our needs. We also use the Dwell Curriculum for our upper elementary and youth.
