About the Position
Lebanon Presbyterian Church is seeking a developer of people who sees this role as mentoring, equipping, and training up all our musicians to rise, not only in their craft, but in their relationship with Jesus. Someone who sees this ministry as a means of growing up disciples of Christ. We desire a developer of worship who possesses a broad love and knowledge of the music and liturgy of the church; a skilled musician who crafts worship to the glory of Christ under the primacy of the Word of God, helping to broaden our congregation’s experience of Jesus.
Job Responsibilities & Duties
Worship Planning (30%)
- Work with pastoral staff, ministry & administrative staff, and worship ministry teams to ensure advanced planning of musical and liturgical elements, scheduling and coordination for all worship gatherings.
- Oversee coordination and scheduling of instrumentalists, choirs, other ensembles and worship leaders for all worship gatherings.
- Create and manage systems for collaboration and coordination with pastoral staff and key volunteers, using tools such as calendars, project management, schedules, etc.
Ministry Leadership (30%)
- Lead and direct music and liturgy for worship services using both active and supportive leadership
- Lead and oversee assigned ministry teams, leading each in a unified vision for the worshiping life of LPC, including worship ministry team, creative planning team, altar guild and ushers.
- Prayerfully shepherd volunteers and paid support staff, to foster a culture of humility, community, and service amongst worship leaders of any capacity
- Invite congregation into greater awareness and participation with worship ministry vision and activities, communicating creatively and professionally through the church newsletter, email bulletins, and other media
- Direct and manage support staff, including organist, piano accompanist, A/V Systems Manager, and Livestream Manager
Music & Creative Arts (30%)
- Recruit, shepherd, coordinate volunteers who serve as musicians and vocalists, inviting both their skills and spirits to rise through leading worship
- Manage musical ensembles, provide resources & coaching to ensure excellence in leadership for Sanctuary Choir and Praise Band, as well as other ensembles.
- Integrate physical environment & physical experience into broader philosophy & vision of worship, including expressions like visual arts, chancel/stage design, audio engineering & design.
- Partner with Creative & Digital Designer to align both print and digital content for worship.
- Nurture creativity with musicians and vocalists as an expression of worship
Administration & Technology (10%)
- Working with support staff, ensure audiovisual and multimedia systems and processes related to worship are current, operating smoothly and effectively.
- In coordination with the Worship Ministry Team, set and manage the worship budget
- Maintain records and files including the music library and comply with copyright laws.
- In partnership with pastoral staff, schedule and coordinate music/musicians and sound operators for memorial services, weddings, etc
SUPERVISION: Reports to the Pastor as Head of Staff

General Requirements
MINIMUM
- Actively growing in God’s grace through spiritual disciplines and study of scripture, and committed to leading others in worship of our triune God
- Minimum bachelor’s degree, with preference for majors related to music, worship studies, or theology.
- Training and experience in leading choral and instrumental ensembles.
- Strong musical proficiency in voice and at least one musical instrument.
- Proficiency in arranging and composing.
- Experience leading teams in worship ministry, with passion and patience for mobilizing volunteers toward a unified vision
DESIRED
- Five or more year’s experience planning leading sacramental & liturgical corporate worship
- Experience leading a broad variety of worship music styles
- Comfortable working with and managing appropriate technology
- Joyfully collaborative
