Director of Youth Ministry

Youth Ministry Summary: Design, develop, and direct all aspects of youth ministry from 6th Grade through 12th Grade within Clarkesville First Methodist Church. Manage all paid and volunteer staff ensuring complete excellence in the love, care and spiritual growth of youth.

● Cooperates with and supports other church staff in a spirit of unity to achieve a common goal–fulfilling the mission of the church.

● Provides a loving, caring, and accountable environment that leads students to discovering and developing a real relationship with Jesus.

● Connects with youth in an age-appropriate way, developing personal, rewarding, and deep relationships.

● Offers age appropriate activities and studies for a separate Senior Youth Group (grades 9-12) and Junior Youth Group (grades 6-8), including Sunday School, Sunday night activities, Wednesday night activities, and Tuesday prayer breakfasts

● Organizes seasonal ministries and special events throughout the year, including Confirmation class, graduation/promotion sunday, spiritual retreats, weekly summer ‘serve & swim’ activities, and a summer mission trip.

● Identifies, recruits, equips, and encourages volunteers for all areas of youth ministry programs and events.

● Plans a yearly Youth Ministry events calendar to be created six months out and promotes these events through various church communications, including youth specific social media.

● Develops a personal relationship with youth families through regular communication, outreach, attending youth non-church events, such as sporting events and performances.

● Develops an annual budget and manages spending to ensure expenses are within the budget limits. Organizes youth-led fundraisers in advance of mission trips or other youth activities requiring fees.

● Ensures Ministry Safe policies are adhered to at all times to protect the safety of the youth.
