Hope Over Crisis is a non-profit, 501(c)3, non-denominational, evangelical organization dedicated to spreading the gospel of Jesus Christ. We focus on training churches in some of the world’s most challenging countries, where Christians face oppression and persecution, to respond to crises in their communities. Position Overview:
The Director of U.S. Programs for Hope Over Crisis is a mission-driven, faith-supported leader responsible for developing, overseeing, and expanding Hope Over Crisis’ U.S.-based program initiatives, including ongoing programming and disaster relief efforts. This role will require the Director to raise their financial support. The Director will be integral in advancing the organization’s capacity to respond to domestic needs through strategic programming, disaster relief coordination, and team management. They will also build and lead a strong network of program staff and coordinators, ensuring impactful and sustainable U.S.-focused initiatives that reflect Hope Over Crisis’ mission and values.
Key Responsibilities:
- Program Development & Management
- Oversee the development and execution of U.S.-based program initiatives, aligning strategies with Hope Over Crisis’ mission.
- Lead design and implementation of both sustainable and rapid-response disaster relief programs, adapting to emerging community needs and conducting impact assessments.
- Work cross-functionally to establish program goals, measurable outcomes, and reporting metrics.
- Faith-Based Support & Fundraising
- Raise financial support for the Director role, sharing Hope Over Crisis’ vision and mission with churches, individual donors, and community supporters.
- Develop and maintain relationships with financial partners, updating them on program impact and the Director’s role in driving Hope Over Crisis’ domestic mission.
- Team Leadership & Staff Development
- Build, train, and manage a high-performing U.S. program team, including recruitment and development of coordinators and support staff.
- Provide mentorship, support, and performance guidance to staff, fostering a collaborative, mission-driven environment.
- Ensure team members are equipped with the resources and knowledge necessary for high-impact disaster response and community support.
- Disaster Relief Coordination
- Act as the lead for disaster relief planning and response, coordinating resources and response teams for effective disaster assistance.
- Implement scalable disaster response frameworks, including rapid-deployment plans and community engagement strategies.
- Oversee logistics for disaster relief efforts, ensuring safety, efficiency, and maximum program impact.
- Community Engagement & Partnership Development
- Develop partnerships with local organizations, churches, government agencies, and community leaders to strengthen program outreach.
- Represent Hope Over Crisis in public forums, community meetings, and media to communicate program impact and needs.
- Work closely with community partners to secure resources, financial support, and volunteer engagement to expand program reach.
- Program Evaluation & Reporting
- Establish methods for evaluating program impact, leveraging data to drive continuous improvement and strategic planning.
- Track and report key metrics, challenges, and achievements to the Executive Director and key stakeholders.
- Manage budgets for domestic programs, ensuring efficient use of resources to maximize impact.
Qualifications:
- Growing in the knowledge and a grace-filled relationship with Jesus Christ.
- Active member of a local church.
- Willingness to raise financial support.
- Bachelor’s degree in social work, nonprofit management, disaster management, or related field; Master’s preferred.
- 5+ years of experience in program management, with at least 2 years in disaster relief or emergency response.
- Strong fundraising and donor development skills, with a commitment to building a faith-supported role.
- Proven success in leading and managing teams, including recruitment, training, and performance management.
- Strong organizational, communication, and project management skills.
- Ability to excel in high-stakes, fast-paced environments, especially in disaster response scenarios.
- Experience working with government agencies, community organizations, and faith-based partners.
- Commitment to Hope Over Crisis’ mission, a strong Christian faith, and experience in trauma-informed, compassionate care approaches.
Work Environment:
- This is a remote position but may require frequent travel to disaster-affected or program locations within the U.S.
- Flexibility in working hours is expected due to the nature of disaster response work.
