Associate Worship Minister

General Purpose:

The role of the Associate Worship Minister is to lead the congregation in engaging, dynamic worship designed to draw people closer to Christ and to His salvation, and lead them into deeper discipleship of Him, while developing the church's vocal teams to lead in their gifting with specific training.

Live Oak Church in Denham Springs, LA, is located in a thriving community just east of Baton Rouge. We average ~1,350 in-person worshipers on Sunday mornings across 3 services (2 contemporary, 1 traditional), in addition to those who worship with us online. We are driven by a single goal: to do our part in leading people into a growing relationship with Jesus Christ.

Principle Focus:

Promote the stated mission and goals of Live Oak Church under the direction of the Worship Pastor, and serve as a colleague in ministry with the pastoral staff. Develop and train vocalists to serve the local church through the technical excellence (proper vocal technique, health) and spiritual excellence (passion for the Lord, devotion, leadership) expected of those on the platform.

Skills and Requirements:

Professing born again follower of Jesus Christ

Ordained minister (preferred)

Worship/music degree (preferred)

Prior experience in a similar position

Working Relationships and Accountability:

Reports directly to the Worship Pastor.

Spiritual accountability from the Senior Pastor.

Organizational accountability from the Executive Pastor and HR Committee.

Supervises accompanist, vocalists, and relevant volunteers.

Regular and Occasional Duties:

Collaborate with the Worship Pastor to provide worship for corporate services:

• Scheduling singers and musicians for weekly services, conducting vocal rehearsals as needed.
• Prepare charts/vocal roadmaps, and lead mid-week vocal team rehearsals, as needed.
• Assist Worship Pastor to plan, staff, and lead special worship experiences, including Easter Sunrise, Good Friday, and Christmas Eve.
• Plan and oversee children's summer music camp.
• Assist with leading and/or scheduling soloists/accompanists for funerals, as needed.

Development of Staff and Volunteers:

• Identify, recruit, and train new vocalists to serve on the Worship team, and in the Worship Choir when utilized.
• Train and incorporate student vocalists into weekly services.
• Assist the Worship Pastor in training volunteers through Worship Development, giving unique feedback to vocalists on the Worship Team, leading classes or workshops as needed, while incorporating spiritual disciplines and leadership in each area.

Office responsibilities:

• Track relevant metrics (attendance, engagement, development, etc.)
• Attend weekly Staff meeting.
• Attend monthly Administrative Board meeting.
• Maintain music library.

Employment Status:

• Full-time position with comprehensive benefits package including but not limited to 401k enrollment with 100% matching (up to 3% of salary), mental health, vision, dental and life insurance coverage, tuition reimbursement, monthly cell phone stipend, as well as generous vacation & PTO.
• The person to fill this position will be approved by the Executive Team, HR Committee, and Administrative Board.
• Salary range: $47,500-50,000, based on educational background and experience. Raises determined annually based on performance.
