Student Minister

City Church Melissa

Job Description

About City Church:

City Church Melissa was planted in March 2014. From the beginning, our church has been committed to bringing the message of the Gospel to bear in our local community, equipping the saints to do the works of ministry and planting churches to see other communities transformed by Christ. We sum this vision up with this statement: “We are a community of believers living for the glory of God and the good of the city.” We accomplish this vision by working to build real relationships with our neighbors and being intentional about sharing Christ with them. In order to equip the saints, we hold the Bible as our ultimate and sufficient authority. We practice expository preaching through the whole counsel of God’s word and call on the people of City Church to use their gifts in service to the local church. We work to equip parents to be the primary disciple makers in their homes and to view the church as extended family serving one another to that end. City Church is a family and we are excited to welcome a new leader into our family who is passionate about seeing students become independently dependent on Christ!

About Melissa, TX:

The city of Melissa is a high-growth suburb of Dallas in far north Collin County. The community is known for its excellent schools and small town culture. The community is very supportive of one another and as a single High School town, everyone is a Cardinal! There is growing diversity in the population and new neighborhoods are popping up regularly. What was once a small farming community has become a burgeoning suburban bedroom community in just a matter of years. City Church has been blessed to be around for much of this new phase of fast growth and as a result has deep roots in the city.

The Opportunity:

The Elders of City Church have determined that it is time to hire a Student Minister to join the existing staff of three pastors. Since it’s launch, City Church has had a vibrant student ministry. There is a great team of volunteers who have taken the calling to disciple students seriously and our church has a strong presence in the lives of students in our city. The elders recognize that the growth of our student ministry now requires a shepherd who can devote his full attention to partnering with parents and building relationships with students. This is an opportunity to step into a church where a great support team exists. This is also an opportunity to step into a community where the church has a great reputation of caring for students well. Finally, this is an opportunity to proclaim the good news of Christ’s unconditional love to some amazing students who are unfortunately often told by the world that they are loved because of the way they perform. The harvest is ready! As the City Church Student Minister you will have the opportunity to teach in both large and small group settings. You will also have periodic opportunities to preach in Sunday morning gatherings. City Church is passionate about church planting and sending. This is an opportunity to be trained and mobilized for future ministry. If you love students and desire to grow in your ministry calling this is a perfect fit for you.
