The Pastor Search Committee of Wayside Baptist Church, Vicksburg is actively searching for a man of God, led by the Holy Spirit, to serve as Pastor. The church is located south of Vicksburg, in an established rural community that has a lot of potential for growth. Our church motto is “Small Church with a Big Heart.”

The Sunday morning attendance is 30 to 40, with a Wednesday service having about 15-25. We continue to see people accepting the Lord and following in baptism. We give the Holy Spirit the glory for this continued growth.

Wayside is a multi-generational church with strong extended families. We strive to provide ministry to all age groups through fellowship meals, Childrens’ church, Vacation Bible School, Adult/Youth Choir and informal gatherings designed to foster close relationships.

The people of Wayside form a caring and loving church. We support the Warren-Yazoo Baptist Association, the Mississippi Baptist State Convention and the Southern Baptist Convention. In addition to our support of SBC causes, we support Operation Christmas Child to extend our ministry across the world.

We are searching for a full time Pastor or Bi-vocational who:

Meets the qualifications of Overseer found in 1 Tim. 3:1-7 and Titus 1:7-9

Prepares and delivers weekly messages that are Biblically accurate, culturally relevant.

Affirms the Baptist Faith and Message which is recognized by the church.

Will lead in outreach through visitation to church members and the community.

Will lead in the observance of the ordinances.

Leads a weekly Bible study and prayer meeting.

Provides pre-marital counseling and perform weddings, when appropriate.

Visits members and regular attenders in area hospitals.

Represents the church in the Warren-Yazoo Baptist Association, MBSC and SBC.
