Worship & Ministries Leader

Overview:

First Baptist Church of Collinsville is looking for a part-time Worship Ministries Director/Pastor. This team member will be responsible for providing leadership to the worship team, as well as helping the Senior Pastor lead and develop the ministries of the church.

Our worship is a blend of hymns and contemporary worship songs. We place a high value on congregational singing and doctrinally-rich lyrics. The ideal candidate would strive to facilitate corporate participation in our services rather than putting on a performance.

The Candidate:

• Professes faith in Jesus Christ and exhibits a lifestyle devoted to Him.

• Is a current member of a local church in good standing.

• Exemplifies the character qualifications of an elder as found in 1 Tim. 3:1-7 Titus 1:5-9.

• The candidate does not have to be an ordained elder/pastor to apply. However, our hope is that the candidate does “aspire to the office of overseer” (1 Tim. 3:1), and as the character qualifications mentioned in 1 Tim. 3 Titus 1 are traits that all Christians should seek to live out, we do expect this to be true of our candidates.

• Theological education/previous experience is preferred, but not required.

Responsibilities:

• Planning the worship services in cooperation with the Senior Pastor.

• Scheduling volunteers for the services via PlanningCenter.

• Providing oversight to the church’s worship team.

• Recruiting developing leaders and musicians for the worship team.

• Conducting weekly worship team rehearsals.

• Finding substitute leaders for rehearsals or services when unable to attend.

• Working in conjunction with the Senior Pastor to lead and develop the ministries of the church at large.

• Teaching/preaching responsibilities as needed.

Hours Compensation:

• 20-30 hrs. per week

• $30,000 yearly

FBC Collinsville is a group of imperfect people who are all about worshiping and proclaiming our perfect and sufficient Savior, Jesus Christ. Our church is all about the Word of God and is doctrinally-driven. We are a mid-sized congregation, ranging from 100-120 on a Sunday morning.
