Youth Activities Coordinator

Employing their God-given gifts, talents, and professional experience, as the Youth Group Coordinator of Christ the Servant will grow and develop the youth group and assist the Youth and Family Team of the congregation in worshipping and glorifying God the Father, Son, and Holy Spirt in the following ways:

Key responsibilities

· Mentor youth in their faith encouraging them to use their God given talents in the world.

· Plan, promote and administer activities for high school youth group, partnering with other local churches and our Synod when accessible and appropriate

· Attend church at Christ the Servant

· Prepare and lead Sunday School curriculum for high school youth group in collaboration with the Youth and Family Team

· Prepare and present some children’s sermons, scheduling in collaboration with Pastor

· Plan, promote and participate in special Youth oriented worship services in collaboration with the Youth and Family Team

· Participate in and assist with churchwide youth events (such as Trunk or Treat, Easter Egg Hunt, VBS)

· Attend annual Summer Mission trip

· Attend youth and family ministry team meetings

· Communicate events to youth, parents, and the congregation

· Encourage volunteer participation with parents and congregation members

Experience and Qualifications

· A disciple of Jesus Christ

· Familiarity with the innerworkings of a church

· Three to five years’ experience with church youth group

· Some Educational, Child Development, or Theological studies a plus

· Licensed driver with own transportation

· Proven track record of connecting with and developing relationships with young people

· Excellent communication skills

· Creative and upbeat with a passion for working with youth
