GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
The High School Pastor is responsible for leading and discipling high school students toward an authentic faith in Jesus! This role involves working alongside the Middle School Director and the Family Ministry Team to create clear programming, structures, and relational connections that foster spiritual growth. The High School Pastor will develop meaningful influence among students, volunteers, and parents to ensure strong communication, discipleship pathways, and an environment where students can belong and thrive.
ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Student Engagement & Discipleship
-Build intentional relationships with students through structured programs, as well as through informal, everyday interactions outside of scheduled ministry activities.
-Develop and implement clear discipleship pathways for high school students.
-Oversee and maintain a safe and welcoming environment where all students feel included.
Teaching & Spiritual Growth
-Coordinate and manage the teaching schedule for student services.
-Teach regularly and provide theological and practical guidance to students.
-Plan and oversee events and experiences that foster spiritual growth, community, and mission engagement.
Collaboration & Communication
-Work closely with parents, volunteers, and the Family Ministry Team to ensure a holistic discipleship approach for families.
-Provide clear and consistent communication with students, parents, and volunteers.
-Recruit, train, and develop volunteers through structured leadership pathways.
Administrative & Strategic Leadership
-Develop strategic ministry goals that include opportunities for missions, outreach, and service.
-Stay current with next-gen ministry trends, social media, and curriculum developments.
-Utilize existing systems to track attendance and student connections effectively.
-Oversee and manage the High School Ministry budget, ensuring responsible stewardship of resources.

-Character – Models a Christ-centered life with integrity, humility, and spiritual maturity, aligning with biblical leadership standards.
-Calling – Clearly demonstrates a passion and commitment to discipling students, sensing God’s call to next-generation ministry.
-Competency –Possesses the knowledge, skills and experience necessary to lead effectively, including biblical teaching, leadership development, ministry planning, and clear communication with students, parents, and volunteers.
-Chemistry – Works well with students, parents, volunteers, and staff, fostering healthy relationships and a collaborative team environment.
-Culture – Embodies and champions the mission, values, and vision of NCC, creating a welcoming and gospel-centered environment for students.
