Position Summary
The Children’s Pastor will oversee the Kindergarten through 5th grade programming that propels the next generation to celebrate, apply, and extend the gospel in their community. They will be a proactive, experienced leader who sets vision and builds great teams. They will facilitate weekly gatherings for 150+ kids and work alongside a team of 60 adult volunteers and 20 student volunteers.
Core responsibilities:
Children's Discipleship
- Responsibly lead and champion leader that champions weekly gatherings, camps, and other events throughout the year
- Create safe, simple, engaging, and age-appropriate environments
- Cultivate a relational ministry that is centered on the gospel and resourcing families
- Responsible for communicating, planning, and executing ministry with excellence
- Ensure that all systems, practices, and procedures are functioning well
Build Great Teams
- Recruit, develop, train, and retain leaders/volunteers
- Know, love, and care for those in your sphere of influence
- Encourage and empower volunteers both individually and as groups on a regular basis
Cultivate Relational Ministry
- Cultivate a relational ministry culture built on trust
- Connect with volunteers on a regular basis outside of Sunday mornings
- Connect with families on a regular basis outside of Sunday mornings
- Celebrate milestones as an effort to cultivate maturity
Qualifications:
Personal
- Cultivates and maintains a healthy spiritual life that includes prayer, worship, studying the Word, and applying the gospel to your life and family

- Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
- Prove ability to assess and initiate action independently when needed
- Can work autonomously and prioritize work appropriately
- Demonstrates creative and effective problem-solving skills
- Demonstrates effective verbal and written communication skills
Education and experience
- Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institutionis preferred. A seminary Degree is desirable.
- A minimum of 5 years of ministry experience in Preschool or Children, or an equivalent occupation in education is preferred.
- Able to articulate a clear call to ministry to children
