Job Description

House of Bread Church is seeking a Children’s Pastor who embodies our core values and is committed to nurturing the spiritual growth of our young community. This key role will be instrumental in fostering both personal and spiritual development through dynamic, engaging, and thoughtfully structured programming.


Responsibilities

The Children’s Pastor will oversee a wide range of programs and responsibilities, including:

  • Designing and implementing Sunday programming for children from preschool to elementary grades.
  • Overseeing curriculum selection and implementation, with the flexibility to evaluate and transition to new materials if necessary.
  • Developing transitional programs in collaboration with the student ministry leaders to bridge the gap for tweens and junior high students entering student ministries.
  • Leading mid-week programs, including Awana and GEMS.
  • Growing the Vacation Bible School (VBS) program as a cornerstone of the annual ministry calendar.
  • Managing 160+ volunteers and 1 part-time paid assistant, ensuring proper training and development.
  • Cultivating a leadership pipeline by identifying and mentoring emerging leaders among volunteers and staff.
  • Collaborating with the campus pastor to align Sunday school teachers with the broader “Dream Team” culture.

The church’s vibrant community thrives by using both English and Russian, reflecting its diverse congregation, which includes many second and third-generation immigrants.
