Job Description

Children’s Ministry Director

Cassidy Church | Nixa/Ozark, Missouri

Part-time | 20–30 hours per week

$18–$20 per hour, plus healthcare stipend

Help children build a faith that lasts.

Cassidy Church is seeking a Children’s Ministry Director who loves Jesus, connects naturally with children, and enjoys equipping others to serve.

You will join our Next Gen team, which brings our children’s and youth ministries together around a shared purpose: helping children, students, and families grow toward Jesus. Your primary focus will be children’s ministry, but you won’t be doing it alone. You will work alongside our youth director, pastor, and volunteers to support families, coordinate ministry opportunities, and help children move into youth ministry with relationships and faith that keep growing.

Our Vision

Our vision is simple: Love Jesus and do something about it.

Our Next Gen Pathway expresses that vision in three words: Love. Live. Lead. Together, we help young people experience God’s love, walk with Jesus each day, and discover how they can lead by serving others.

Your Opportunity

We want you to bring your ideas, your creativity, and your heart for families. You will help build a ministry where children feel known, parents feel supported, and volunteers find real purpose in serving.

In this role, you will:

  • Lead children’s ministry on Sunday mornings and Wednesday evenings.
  • Plan engaging, age-appropriate experiences rooted in Scripture.
  • Recruit, train, schedule, and encourage children’s ministry volunteers.
  • Build relationships with children, parents, and guardians.
  • Give families simple ways to continue faith conversations at home.
  • Partner with the youth director on shared Next Gen goals, family events, service opportunities, and transitions into youth ministry.
  • Coordinate children’s events and outreach opportunities.
  • Maintain safe, welcoming spaces and follow church child-protection policies.
  • Manage children’s curriculum, supplies, communication, and budget.
  • Plan and lead Vacation Bible School.
  • Participate in staff meetings and Next Gen planning.

Preferred qualifications:

  • A degree in early childhood education, elementary education, child development, or a related field.
  • Experience teaching, caring for, or leading young children in a classroom, childcare, or ministry setting.
  • Familiarity with age-appropriate learning, classroom management, and child safety practices.

You may be a great fit if you:

  • Have a growing relationship with Jesus and a desire to help children follow Him.
  • Help children feel welcomed, valued, and included.
  • Enjoy working as part of a team and sharing both ideas and responsibility.
  • Develop volunteers through encouragement, preparation, and clear expectations.
  • Communicate clearly and follow through on plans.
  • Bring creativity, patience, and a willingness to learn.
  • See parents and guardians as partners in a child’s faith.
  • Support Cassidy’s mission, beliefs, and practices.

Experience in children’s ministry, education, volunteer leadership, or a related field is helpful, but we care most about your heart and your willingness to grow. When you apply, tell us how your experience has prepared you to lead children, equip volunteers, and contribute to a Next Gen team.

Position Details

  • Part-time, 20–30 hours per week.
  • $18–$20 per hour, based on experience and qualifications.
  • Healthcare stipend in addition to hourly pay.
  • Schedule includes Sunday mornings, Wednesday evenings, and occasional ministry events.
  • Background screening and Safe Gatherings child-safety training required.

What Success Looks Like

A child prays aloud for the first time. A parent starts a faith conversation at home. A volunteer discovers a gift for teaching. A child walks into youth ministry already knowing they belong to a church family.

You will help make moments like these possible as part of a team committed to the next generation.
