Position Summary - The Pastor of Faith Bible Church:

1. Shepherds and equips the church to make disciples of Jesus Christ by loving God and loving people. 
2. Oversees the spiritual welfare of the church through:
3. The preaching, teaching, and counseling ministry of the Word of God. 
4. Administering the ordinances of believer’s baptism and communion.
5. Championing the church’s vision for evangelism and missions. 
6. Serves as the executive leader of the church, coordinating its corporate ministry and overseeing all its ministry roles. 
7. Leads the planning and execution of all church services and special meetings. 
8. Manages the membership process of the church and meets regularly with the Deacons.

Pastoral Responsibilities

• Church Services

A. Sunday Morning Service

Welcome the congregation at the beginning of each service and fellowship with them at the end of each service.

Preach each Sunday - Exceptions: Illness and vacation.

Administer Communion on the first Sunday of each month.

B. Sunday School

Attend and/or potentially teach an Adult Sunday School Class.  

C. Sunday Fellowship Lunches

We tend to have these once every two months or so. 

D. Wednesday Night Services

Teach the devotional and run the prayer meeting which meets year-round from 7 pm to 8 pm.

E. Baptismal Services

Lead these services, which have to be done at another location since we do not have a baptistry.

A. Message preparation

B. Discipleship

C. Congregational counseling and personal emergencies

D. Hospital visitations

E. Availability by appointment for meetings with congregants

• Meeting Participation

A. Lead, or designate a moderator for Business Meetings

B. We have one scheduled business meeting each quarter, and special business meetings as the need arises.

C. Lead monthly Deacons’ Meetings

• Weddings and funerals - Lead these in conjunction with the church.
