Associate Pastor

Lake Shore Baptist Church is seeking an Associate Pastor to serve alongside our Senior Pastor. He will be responsible for several key ministry responsibilities including church discipleship, volunteer development, outreach and missions, and various pastoral and administrative functions to support the church. POSITION TITLE: Associate Pastor

REPORTS TO: Senior Pastor. If the Senior Pastor position is vacant, this person shall report to the Personnel Committee.

PAY STATUS: Full-time.

QUALIFICATIONS:

The Associate Pastor must be a committed Christian whose life demonstrates the Biblical qualifications of a pastor as outlined in 1 Timothy 3:1-7 and Titus 1:5-10. He must have a clear conviction of his call to Christian ministry, as well as the full support of his spouse, if married. He must live a lifestyle in agreement with our statement of faith (The Baptist Faith Message, 2000). Lastly, the Associate Pastor must have completed a bachelor’s degree in a Biblical or ministry-related field.

SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES:

• Effectively organize and lead people, teams, and events.

• Ability to preach and teach the Word of God.

• Possess strong communication skills.

• Work effectively with other members of the ministry team and members of the church.

• Exhibit strict confidentiality with information regarding the church, its members, and its attendees.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Intentionally develop and cultivate a growing personal relationship with God.

• Regularly pray for the church and the community.

• Create, implement, and oversee a leadership development pipeline to strengthen, support, and grow volunteer teams at LSBC.

• Oversee the discipleship pathway of LSBC, including adult bible studies, home groups, and more.

• Responsible for executing first-time guest follow-up processes.

• Take a leading role in the oversight and execution of on-campus outreach events.

• Build the missions ministry with a focus on local and global missions.

• Preach 2-4 times each year, or as needed.

• Support the Senior Pastor’s ongoing pastoral care duties such as hospital and home visitations, pastoral care appointments, etc.

• Attend Church Council and staff meetings, as scheduled.

• Perform other administrative and related duties as assigned by the Senior Pastor.
