Roles and Responsibilities 

Full Time Pastor

The Pastor of Worship and Liturgy at A2 Church will follow the mission of A2 of glorifying God and leading people into a life-changing relationship with Jesus. This will be accomplished by leading our Sunday morning worship service through musical worship and other liturgical elements. The ideal candidate for this position will be a gifted individual who has a desire to lead worship that is both Spirit-led and liturgically rich for a diverse congregation of believers. 

PASTORAL 

The Pastor of Worship and Liturgy will be “one of the Pastor’s” at A2. This language is intentional because we want to cultivate an environment where pastoral roles and responsibilities are shared among the Pastoral Staff. This is a community of Pastors caring for God’s people. The Pastoral roles and responsibilities include: 

• Counseling and shepherding the members of A2.
• Discipling members within your area of ministry. 
• Strategically planning and praying for the vision and mission of A2. 
• Being available for Pastoral Care needs (hospital visits, funerals, weddings, etc). 
• Planning and leading weekly worship services. 
• Overseeing specific areas of ministry and ministering to staff and volunteers. 
• Participate in Groups, Men’s Ministry, other A2 functions and special events. 
• Participate in weekly staff meetings. 

SUNDAY WORSHIP 

• Lead worship each week for Sunday Worship service and plan an implement liturgical elements. 
• Lead midweek rehearsal each week.
• Meet with the Pastoral Staff each week to plan and pray for the service. 
• Select songs and schedule musicians.
• Recruit and train musicians to serve on the worship team. 

TECH TEAM

• Schedule tech team for each week and make sure all needs are covered. 
• Input sermon slides, song lyrics and announcement graphics in pro presenter each week. 
• Recruit and train volunteers to serve on the tech team. 
• Resolve technical issues as the arise and update equipment as needed. 

YOUTH WORSHIP

• Lead worship for youth group each week (2-3 songs)
• Lead worship for A2 youth retreats and “in house” conferences. 
• Assist Youth Pastor in raising up and training students to form and participate in youth worship team. 
• Serve as the main point of contact for technical needs for youth and kids ministry. 

SPECIAL EVENTS 

• Lead worship for special A2 Services (Good Friday, Ash Wednesday, etc.).
• Lead worship for More + ministry nights and conferences. 
• Lead worship for nights of worship and prayer (2-3 per year). 
• Lead worship for Wednesday morning prayer (once a month). 
• Be available to lead or assist for any funerals, weddings or other special services.
