JOB DESCRIPTION


CANDIDATE:

Real Life Christian Church has partnered with the Aaron Hur Group in the search for a Creative Arts Director (Worship). The Creative Arts Director at RLCC plays a vital role in organizing Sunday morning worship services and various other worship events. This position calls for a deep passion for Jesus and a commitment to nurturing the church by guiding people in worship. The individual in this role must continually strive for excellence both on and off the stage, while also focusing on personal growth as a follower of Christ, a shepherd to the congregation, and as a musician/worship leader. Additionally, this person will oversee the creative aspects of RLCC, which include graphics displayed in service (message and lyrics), lighting design, and video production. They will also oversee the technical aspects of RLCC including Live Streaming, and in-house Audio and lighting engineering.


The Creative Arts Director's primary role is to oversee the Creative Arts & Worship Ministry but should understand that the church staff works together to accomplish the mission and vision of the church. The Creative Arts Director will work collaboratively with other staff members and volunteers to advance RLCC’s vision and mission.


EXPERIENCE:

The Creative Arts Director must possess comprehensive experience in leading a modern worship band, which includes arranging songs and transitions as well as conducting effective rehearsals. They should be knowledgeable about the role of each instrument in specific songs and be capable of coaching musicians on their respective instruments when necessary. Additionally, the candidate should have experience leading a vocal team, being able to sing or identify harmonies while managing productive vocal rehearsals. Familiarity with in-ear monitor systems, proficiency in playing with a click track, and managing backing track software are essential. Experience using Planning Center to create service plans and invite team members to participate is also required.


RESPONSIBILTIES:

Personal Responsibilities:

This individual must demonstrate a shepherd’s heart for people and model biblical priorities by being committed to:

  • Faithfully supporting the ministry of RLCC by giving regularly.
  • Demonstrating spiritual maturity and a growing relationship with Jesus.
  • Displaying a balance of humility and drive to build God’s kingdom.


Leadership Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and coordinate worship gatherings and ensure the addition of new and relevant worship songs/elements in our weekend services
  • Cast vision, monitor, and influence the musical direction of RLCC to ensure it reflects the vision, values and goals of the church
  • Recruit and train band members, vocalists volunteers running audio, lighting, camera operators, and stage graphics/slides.who will participate in our weekend worship services
  • Ensure that overall weekend worship services are effective and on target regarding content, style, structure and design
  • Assist with planning special worship services such as Christmas Eve, Easter, Family Sunday’s and other special programs as assigned
  • Will oversee set design, video production, service timing, graphic design, consistent branding throughout worship, media and building
  • Maintain a network of relevant professionals/vendors and learn who to ask advice and knowledge from regarding our current systems and technologies utilized


Programming Responsibilities:

  • Meet weekly with the Lead Pastor to discuss/critique prior weekend service and plan future weekend service, with the intentionality of transcendent engagement (creating experiences that shakes them out of the routine of “church” and connects them/ helps them experience God)
  • Facilitate brainstorming sessions to generate fresh ideas and creative elements for service programming
  • Interface with communicators to ensure a consistent message is being told in program details, i.e. music, video, offering, announcements, etc.
  • Participate in weekly service meetings to plan and coordinate music, video and other program notes and assets
  • Develop systems to create detailed service plans at least two weeks prior to the event date including musical, technical, video, and other programming needs
  • Provide ongoing feedback with worship team to maintain a high standard of excellence and monitoring the impact of service programming


Congregational Responsibilities:

  • Assist with maintaining a high touch ministry. Be known and know your church attendees
  • Counsel as requested and refer to professionals for extensive counseling as needed
  • Provide leadership and input regarding development, managing and implementation of annual RLCC budget for areas of responsibility
  • Participate in church wide events and outreach events
  • Highly encouraged to participate or lead a Community Group
  • Serve personally and plan tech team requirements for special services such as funerals and weddings, etc as requested


echnical Responsibilities:

  • Develop the people, philosophy, systems and deadlines related to the video, graphic and technical elements of RLCC
  • Produce creative and effective graphics
  • Produce effective in-service videos including: drafting concepts, scripting, video shoots, editing and post-production
  • Strategize creative tactics to use video to promote and send the messages RLCC wants to communicate to the church and the world
  • Oversee the audio, lighting, and video technology for RLCC including maintenance, programming and purchasing of the following products:
  • Planning Center
  • ProPresenter
  • Multitracks
  • Resi.io streaming software
  • All apple products (MacBooks, iMacs, Studios, apple TV’s, iPads),
  • Blackmagic Design video equipment
  • Cannon Cameras
  • Allen & Heath audio consuls and equipment
  • Stage lighting and console


Experience:

Bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred.
