About the Position

The Student Pastor is a full-time position responsible for partnering with parents in leading their students to be wholehearted followers of Christ. He will lead the student ministry, and all parents, students, and volunteers involved. He will answer to our Lead Pastor and Executive Pastor.


Job Responsibilities & Duties

  • Lead the ministry under the authority and vision of our Lead Pastor & Executive Pastor
  • Provide vision, direction, development, and management for all aspects of our ministry to students in grades 6–12, cultivating relationships with students and their parents, preparing and sharing weekly Bible studies and activities
  • Oversee identifying, recruiting, and equipping volunteers for serving in the SM
  • Oversee all SM programming including small groups, worship, and events
  • Move students who are saved into baptism, church partnership, and a growing relationship with Jesus
  • Develop, implement & maintain communications, marketing, artwork & printed material related to students, while assisting in maintaining social media and website presence
  • Develop and publish Student Activities Calendar
  • Implement a strategy to reach Morgan County students to win them to Christ
  • Develop a presence for the ministry at local schools and other community events
  • Help equip parents to disciple their students
  • Faithfully oversee the budget for student ministry


Personal Responsibilities

  • Maintain God-ordained priorities in your life by putting Jesus first, your spouse second, family third, and the ministry fourth
  • Student Pastor’s wife would play a vital role in his ministry by being very supportive of weekly gathers, events and outings (if married)
  • Live a life that shows evidence of a consistent and growing devotional life
  • Give 10% of your income to the vision of Fusion Church of Madison
  • Support the overall vision & direction of the church & always protect the unity of the church
  • Attend staff meetings, church services & participate in additional meetings as needed
  • Function as a team player- encouraging/supporting all ministries represented
  • It is encouraged that you develop healthy relationships with other local ministry leaders
  • Be prepared to perform regular pastoral duties, including but not limited to baptisms, communion, funerals, pastoral care, etc.
