Kid’s Ministry Pastor/Director

Job Description:

To build young disciples for Christ by developing and implementing a comprehensive approach to kids’ ministry in a young and vibrant church. Overseeing all programming and ministry for children ages birth to 6th grade, including Sunday mornings, Wednesday nights, summer programming and special events including Vacation Bible School. The Kids Ministry Pastor will partner with parents, volunteers, and the FCC staff to effectively reach all children for Christ and work to make young disciples in a way that is fun, creative, and cutting-edge.

Key Responsibilities:

1.  Oversee all Sunday Morning Kids Ministry.
2.  Oversee the Wednesday night Awana
3.  Organize regular trainings for all Kids Ministry volunteers, supporting and developing them for the work of the ministry.
4.  Supervise Kids Ministry staff.
5.  Organize and oversee all annual events (Camp, VBS, etc.), Kids Ministry traditions (baptisms, Bible presentations, 6th Grade Affirmation, etc.), and Kids Ministry special activities (5th and 6th Grad Late Nighter, Family Movie Nights, etc.)
6.  Develop and support parenting classes to meet the needs of the church.
7.  Pastor/Mentor the children of FCC by being a spiritual leader and Christ-like example in all areas of life.
8.  Work as a team member with all FCC staff and volunteers to ensure we effectively live out the mission of the church: Love Jesus, Love People, and Go Live It!

Qualifications:

• A deep, personal relationship with Jesus Christ and a commitment to biblical teaching.
• Four-year Bible degree required. Master’s degree preferred. Years of experience in ministry to kids may be considered equivalent.
• 5+ years of ministry to kids required. Experience in a large or medium-large church strongly preferred.
• Strong communications, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to connect with a diverse congregation and foster a welcoming community.
• Willing to work collaboratively with staff and volunteers to help move forward the broader vision of FCC.
