Job Description:
Cross Road Church is seeking a passionate and gifted Worship Minister to lead our congregation in Christ-centered, Spirit-led worship. This person will be responsible for cultivating a church-wide culture of worship that honors God, inspires the church, and develops a thriving worship team. The Worship Pastor will lead themselves with spiritual discipline, lead the worship team with excellence, and lead the church in engaging, transformative worship experiences. They will embody our vision of Reach, Teach, Live, and Love – Like Jesus
Core Responsibilities:
Leading Yourself
- Maintain a vibrant personal relationship with Jesus through prayer, Scripture, worship, service and giving.
- Exhibit a lifestyle of integrity, humility, and spiritual maturity.
- Demonstrate a high degree of musical skill and understanding.
- Pursue personal and professional development in worship leadership and ministry.
Leading the Worship Team
- Recruit, develop, and disciple musicians, vocalists, and tech team members.
- Foster a team culture of excellence, unity, and servant-hearted leadership.
- Plan and lead weekly rehearsals, ensuring musical and spiritual preparation.
- Encourage and mentor emerging worship leaders within the church.
Leading the Church in Worship
- Design and lead worship services that invite the congregation into authentic encounters with God, worshipping in spirit and truth, with heart, soul, mind, and strength.
- Collaborate with the pastoral team to ensure worship aligns with the church’s vision; taking special care to infuse theologically accurate content in worship.
- Engage the congregation in worship, fostering participation and spiritual growth.
- Utilize creativity and appropriate worship expression.
Additional Responsibilities
- Coordinate with other ministry leaders for special services, events, and seasonal programs.
- Manage the worship ministry budget and resources wisely for maximum impact and growth.
- Support the overall mission and vision of the church through collaboration and service.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Embody the qualifications of a pastor/elder according 1 Timothy 3 and Titus 1.
- A deep love for Jesus and a passion for leading others in worship.
- Strong musical ability (vocal and instrumental) with a heart for spiritual leadership.
- Experience leading worship in a church setting (3-5 years).
- Experience with worship technology, including Planning Center, ProPresenter, audio mixing, lighting schemes etc.
- Bonus: Has experience with online live stream production – video quality, sound mixing, communication, etc.
- Ability to recruit, train, and mentor musicians and vocalists.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- A team player with a humble, servant-hearted attitude.
- Formal theological or musical training, or equivalent experience
- Multi-instrumentalist is preferred

History
Cross Road Church began in the backyard of Founding Pastor Brad Cooper in 2002. What started as a Bible study with just a handful of adults quickly outgrew the yard and moved to what is now known as Ability Point. Within a few months, Cross Road outgrew that space as well and was blessed to find a new home at 13th and Ridge Rd, where it continued to grow until needing a larger facility in 2014.
Today, Cross Road is located just south of Kellogg on Maize Rd. With more than 20,000 people living within a 2-mile radius and over 100,000 within 5 miles, Cross Road is perfectly positioned to continue to Reach, Teach, Live, and Love – Like Jesus with and among those around us!

Ministries
- 412 Kids: The goal of the 412Kids team is to encourage kids to live out 1 Timothy 4:12. We want to give our kids the tools to help them to follow God. No matter how young they are, they can start encouraging each other with their words, their actions, and praising God with their thoughts. - 412 Students: 412 Students is where 6th-12th grade students learn to Reach, Teach, Live and Love Like Jesus! Through consistent Bible-teaching, worship, and discipleship, our students learn to cultivate a thriving relationship with Jesus that continues throughout their lives. - Gray Matters Collective: A vibrant collection of those 55+. Activities include monthly gatherings, bimonthly day trips, special interest small groups, and an intentional community that seeks to engage with younger generations.
- Mercy Ministries: From serving meals and creating sleeping mats for the homeless in our area to sewing prayer blankets and knitting/crocheting chemo caps, baby blankets and more for those in need, Cross Road has a huge heart for the “least of these”. https://www.crossroad.live/ministries
- LifeGroups: These groups are gatherings of 8 to 16 people who intentionally share life together through Bible study, prayer, meals, serving, and fun. Some groups meet at the church building, but most gather in the home of a group member. While special interest groups form throughout the year, most of our groups engage in sermon-based discussions from week to week. Cross Road offers inspiring worship services that encourage, uplift, and ultimately point people to Jesus (9:00 and 10:45am). Services are available both in-person and online, with live streaming during the 9a Sunday service and on-demand viewing through our YouTube and Facebook pages.
