Overview: The Worship Arts Pastor will bring spiritual and musical leadership to all areas of worship, production and creativity including music, tech, media, and service producers. Provide direction and strategy for the Cityline Worship Arts department that is in alignment with Cityline Church’s vision, mission, and values. Lead in developing teams to cultivate a passionate, Jesus-centered, Spirit led, formation focused culture of worship.
The ideal candidate leads from a place of deep intimacy with Jesus. This person will possess strong instrumental and vocal skills, confident in leading both structured and spontaneous worship, as well as the ability to lead and develop worship leaders, musicians and vocalists both in ability and spiritually.
The Worship Arts Pastor needs to:
· Love Jesus more than anything, a lifestyle of integrity, humility, and spiritual maturity.
· Enthusiastic and fully sold out in answering the call to serve God and his church.
· Be fully aligned with the vision, mission, values, and beliefs of Cityline Church.
· Lead the ministry with a vision to help the unchurched, de-churched discover and follow Jesus.
· Possess a proven ability and passion to lead a successful worship arts department developing people, raising up musicians, and creating environments where worship comes to life.
· Demonstrate strong musical, organizational and time management skills. An excellent communicator both orally and written.
· Be a multi-tasking team player with high energy, strong interpersonal skills, and a positive attitude.
The Worship Arts Pastor must have specific gifts, passions, and leadership abilities to oversee the ministry as follows:
· A person of honor, with a desire to embody the core values of Cityline Church.
· The ability to design, coordinate and lead worship experiences (online and in-person) based on the vision, mission, values and or direction of Cityline.
· Oversee creative elements such as visuals, lighting, stage design, and storytelling.
· Collaborate with the Lead Pastors and teaching team to align worship with weekly themes, seasons, and formation goals.
· The skill to effectively recruit, disciple, and develop the worship arts team.
· Manage worship planning, rehearsals, and team communication.
· Execute a worship audition process and help move volunteers through the process of becoming a member of the worship team.
· Develop resources and experiences that encourage worship outside of Sunday (playlists, worship nights, etc.)
· Care for the spiritual health and emotional health of team members, church attenders and volunteers.
Qualifications & Experience:
· Minimum of three years’ experience in a ministry leadership or pastoral role.
· A proven track record with tangible results in the areas listed above.
· A heart and desire for ongoing learning, growth and development.
