Eastwood Baptist Church is prayerfully seeking a Senior Pastor who is passionate about Biblical preaching, relational discipleship, and missions who will lead us, inspire us and grow with us.
We are seeking a man who:
• Is called and qualified according to 1 Timothy 3 and Titus 1
• Affirms the Baptist Faith and Message (2000)
• Demonstrates a personal passion for discipleship and missions
• Has a heart for shepherding and developing members and leaders within the church
• Has a minimum of a MDiv from an SBC Seminary, with preference given to DMin, ThD, and PhD
• Has a minimum of 10 years Pastoral experience or equivalent
Eastwood Baptist Church serves Haughton and Bossier City in NWLA. Positioned on one of the busiest highways in the parish, EBC is at the center of one of the fastest growing areas of Haughton and Bossier City. Haughton, with a population of 4,400 and Bossier City, with a population of 63,000 are part of the greater Shreveport/Bossier City metro area with a population close to 400,000. Just a short distance from EBC is Barksdale Air Force Base with the 2nd largest airfield in the country. More than 15,000 active-duty and Air Force Reserve Command (AFRC) members serve at BAFB. The base brings EBC many visitors and members.
Although EBC has been around for many years, it has been blessed with a membership that is made up of mostly young families and lots of kids and students. Our campus contains 5 buildings including a new, state of the art, Worship center with seating right at 600. We are financially sound and are fully staffed with 4 fulltime ministers: Worship Pastor, Children’s Minister, Student Pastor, and Next Steps Pastor/Church Administrator. We are a loving church family with a genuine love for one another and a deep commitment to God’s Word, Discipleship, and Missions, both local and globally. Our mission is to glorify God by making disciples who make disciples — beginning in our local community and reaching to the ends of the earth.
EBC has 800 members and averages around 350 in worship with 250 in Family Life Groups (our version of Sunday School). We are blessed with a disproportionately large number of children in our children’s ministry which reflects the large number of young families who have joined EBC. Our latest VBS consisted of 140 kids served by 110 volunteers with 11 salvations. While many churches are eliminating choirs, EBC is thriving with a dynamic worship choir and music ministry. The choir, praise band, and praise team are vital and much-loved components of every worship service with a blend of contemporary music and a few traditional components.
