Student Pastor / Youth Pastor

POSITION TITLE: Pastor to Students

POSITION SUMMARY: The primary responsibility of the Pastor to Students is to make disciples of

students (middle school through high school) who know, love, and follow Jesus.

PERSONAL SPIRITUAL QUALIFICATIONS:

● Meet qualifications of 1 Timothy 3:1-7 as described in the Troy First Baptist Church (TFBC)

constitution.

● Ordained Southern Baptist Minister (or willing to be).

● Agrees with the Baptist Faith and Message (revision 2000).

● Agrees with and will live a life consistent with the TFBC Covenant.

● Has a disciplined daily time with the Lord in Bible study and prayer.

● Is approachable, teachable, and listens well.

● Preferably has a bachelor’s degree, 4 years of ministry-related experience or a combination.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

● Nurture and develop a youth ministry that makes Christian disciples of youth who know, love, and

follow Jesus.

● Fulfill the responsibilities of an associate pastor as outlined in our constitution.

● Shall have as a primary scope, students from 6th to 12th grade.

● Raise up student leaders among the middle and high school ministries and equip them to participate

in ministry to make disciples.

● Enhance personal and professional growth by attending conferences and seminars.

● Disciple and equip an adult team of youth leaders.

● Equip parents of youth to disciple their students, and provide counseling and support as needed.

● Make Sunday morning the primary focus of the weekly schedule.

● Plan and lead a well-rounded calendar for youth, which facilitates healthy fellowship and spiritual

growth.

● Lead youth to engage in the practices of a disciple.

● Perform other duties as appropriate to this position and serve in all ways to honor the Lord Jesus

Christ, assisting all ministries and teams, as needed.

ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIP: Position reports directly to the Senior Pastor for all matters

pertaining to this ministry of Troy First Baptist Church.

HOURS: Full-time exempt, 40 hours per week.
