It is our desire as God’s local church to remain faithful to the calling we have received in Jesus. We want to know Him and make Him known. As a church family we have made a commitment to biblical instruction. We believe the Word of God is sufficient and necessary for daily living and our guide to fulfill His purposes for us as His church. We believe that God has given us one another to help us remain faithful, walk in the joy of our salvation, and be the light He has called us to be. We believe it is important for us to be transparent and authentic - honest in our failures and humble in our victories.
There is a commitment to service and care that permeates through our membership. This commitment is put on display as members rally around one another who are in need, and is also seen with over 82% of our membership regularly involved in serving in the ministries of SHBC.
Jesus’s commitment to us, compels our commitment to Him. By His grace we are able to fulfill these commitments to Him, and to one another. We gather every Sunday to worship the Lord. Here we are reminded of our commitment to seek first the kingdom of God, and of our decision to submit our presence and our discipleship to the love and oversight of one another.
May God give you discernment as you consider making application.
