Associate Pastor

The Mission of First Church is to welcome and nurture our community, help people grow as disciples of Christ, and present a positive witness in today’s world. First Presbyterian Church of Bonita Springs is a large and vital congregation dedicated to providing a welcoming and spiritually uplifting experience of worship and community life, proclaiming the Gospel of Jesus Christ in word and deed.

First Presbyterian Church is a biblically centered church whose mission is: “To welcome and nurture our community, help grow as disciples of Christ and present a positive witness in today’s world.” Following God’s vision for our church, we reach people in our community and throughout the world with God’s offer of love and grace in Jesus Christ. We support churches and missionaries, train leaders and short-term teams, while encouraging long-term commitment. We serve compassionately, meeting spiritual, social, and physical needs with a focus on poor and marginalized people and communities. We work in partnership with churches, mission organizations, and missionaries. We participate through prayers, financial support, and personal commitment to study and serve.

We are a faithful church committed to preaching and teaching the Word of God. The church stands solidly with those in its fellowship who seek to preserve traditional beliefs and morality. We are an active and growing church now numbering over 2,000 adult members with many more seasonal attenders. The growth of the congregation matches the growth of the surrounding communities of southern Lee and northern Collier counties. Our staff of 75 employees, which includes 5 pastors and 1 pastoral resident, provides opportunities for worship, spiritual growth, fellowship, and service to all ages and places of life.

Our current Pastors are biblically centered teachers of the gospel of Jesus Christ. The Associate Pastor we seek at First Church is a generalist, who would be involved in all areas of the Church. This Pastor will preach, teach, make care visits, and be asked to assist in any given area of ministry, and must exhibit a passion to help in leading and facilitating the spiritual growth of our Church members. Having a heart for people of all ages and believing God led them to this area of ministry is essential. All our ministries are focused on doing God’s will. Our staff is a team with a variety of gifts, talents and training who are dedicated to serving God through serving those God brings our way--members and friends, winter residents, visitors, the Bonita Springs community and beyond. It is our greatest hope that the ministry of First Church will challenge and encourage individuals in their faith journey and equip them for service in His kingdom.
