Job Description: Associate Pastor
Reports to: Senior Pastor
Classification: Full-Time
Overview:
The Associate Pastor is a key leadership role responsible for the effective day-to-day operations of the church and the oversight of internal ministries. Serving under the direction of the Senior Pastor, the Associate Pastor will ensure the church’s mission is carried out with biblical fidelity, love, clarity, and order. While the Senior Pastor focuses primarily on preaching, teaching, and personal discipleship (Acts 6:4; 2 Tim. 4:2), the Associate Pastor leads the implementation of vision, staff development, ministry coordination, and organizational health (1 Cor. 14:40; Ex. 18:21).
In the big picture, we want Grace & Truth Community to be described by Colossians 1:9-12. While the Senior Pastor will focus mostly on equipping the church in the “knowledge” aspects of this passage, the Associate Pastor will focus mostly on equipping the church in the “bearing fruit” aspects of it.
Primary Responsibilities:
1. Pastoral Responsibilities
2. Operational Oversight & Administration
3. Leadership Development & Team Building
4. Ministry Alignment & Execution
5. Strategic Planning & Vision Implementation
Relationships & Accountability:
The Associate Pastor reports directly to the Senior Pastor and collaborates closely with staff, other leaders, and ministry teams. This role requires humility, spiritual maturity, organizational wisdom, and a commitment to sacrificial leadership (Mark 10:45; 1 Pet. 5:2-3).
Qualifications:
We are a community of believers who humbly acknowledge our need for the forgiveness of our sin, knowing we are sinners saved only by the free gift of grace from our thrice-holy God. This is what we plainly share with every visitor to our page:
"Bring The Whole Family
We are here to support individuals and families being disciples and making disciples. Whether you are single or married, kids or no kids, old or young, we do not believe you are the "church of tomorrow" or the "church of yesterday". You are a creation of God and He has a purpose for you being here."
Grace & Truth would like you to join our pastoral team to serve the Bride of Christ in participation with the plurality of elders being led by the Holy Spirit.
