Zion Community Church is seeking a Senior Pastor to join our mission to lead individuals to Christ, foster authentic redemption, and create a community-focused church that puts the love of Christ into action!

We aim to lead people to discover a life-changing relationship with Jesus Christ, focusing on worship, service, and learning about the Gospel. Our church also strives to be a multi-generational and multicultural community, bridging gaps between generations of believers and encouraging unity.

Role of the Senior Pastor

The primary purpose of this position is to inspire and guide the vision, broader culture, and overall ministry of the church in a way that is aligned with Scripture, mission and vision, and core values. In conjunction with a strong team approach to leadership, the Senior Pastor will accomplish this purpose through five major responsibilities:

1. Commitment to Christ and prayer - Acknowledgement of a personal relationship with Jesus Christ and a commitment to prayer, and the daily guidance of the Holy Spirit.

2. The preaching and teaching of the Word - Commitment to the authenticity and inerrancy of Scripture, which shapes the teaching and preaching for the congregation, with the responsibility to be the primary deliverer of the sermons.

3. Visionary leadership - Communicating compelling vision that exhorts congregation to participation and action for the Kingdom.

4. Pastoral shepherding of other leaders and congregants - Showing compassion and care for everyone connected to the congregation, including staff, ministry leaders, members, and the broader community.

5. Missional engagement - Ushering a collective commitment to great commission involvement locally, nationally, and globally.

Nature of Supervisory Responsibilities:

The Senior Pastor will directly supervise employees in the church administration area. These supervisory responsibilities will be carried out in accordance with church policies and applicable laws in three key areas:

Education:

Required - Bachelor’s Degree with multiple years of pastoral related experience

Preferred - Master’s Degree with multiple years pastoral related experience

*MDiv, DMin, ThD, and PhD are preferred.

Compensation:

Compensation will be based on experience and qualifications, and will include a comprehensive benefits package. The salary range offered will be between $70,000 - $90,000, depending on education and experience.

Availability: Zion Community Church does not sponsor or take over sponsorship of staff employment Visas. Applicants must be authorized to work in the U.S and relocate to Pennsylvania.

Clearances: Background check for child abuse and criminal history will be conducted by Zion Community Church during the candidacy process.

Licenses: PA ceremonial licenses will be necessary to conduct pastoral duties, but not required upon application.
