This job description provides a comprehensive overview of the responsibilities and
duties expected of the CHS Worship Director, emphasizing their role in both leading
worship and managing the logistical and organizational aspects of the worship team at
our broadcast campus.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Sunday Gathering Leadership:
Execute planned gatherings in coordination with the Campus
Pastor and Production Director, ensuring smooth transitions,
and serving in any necessary role. This includes arriving early
to set up, leading team rallies, and spiritually leading the stage
and congregation in worship. This also includes covering any
gaps that may arise, and troubleshooting any issues that come
up.
Rehearsal Management:
Prepare for rehearsals, knowing the songs, and be ready to
play and perform, and lead rehearsals alongside other worship
leaders to ensure well-prepared performances.
Team Recruitment and Onboarding:
Lead the recruitment process for the worship ministry,
responding to inquiries, and executing onboarding procedures.
This includes growing the team by making connections with
potential volunteers.
Worship Content Management:
Program tracks in Ableton weekly and assist in resourcing
worship or production elements. This includes, but not
limited to tracks (Ableton/Ableset), Propresenter, Planning
Center, and any other needed programming. This also
includes aiding in gear maintenance and upkeep as
needed.
Team Development:
Provide personalized care for team members and
participate in team nights, leader events, and other
releveant events to build culture and cast vision. Train team
members to improve their skills in areas like stage
presence, vocal talent, and musical ability. Lead team
members to be involved in the vision and mission of the
church along with ongoing growth in worship ministry.
Worship Collaboration:
Collaborate with the Lead Pastor, SVL Worship Director,
and Production Staff, where applicable, to set up the
church and campus for success.
Flexibility and Adaptability:
Understand that "ongoing change" is part of Awaken
Church and be willing to move and grow with that vision.

We currently have 2 campuses. Our broadcast campus is located in the North Charleston/West Ashley area and our Summerville Campus is portable and meets in Summerville.
