Brushy Creek Baptist Church is seeking a passionate and experienced Student Pastor to join our NextGen team. This full-time role is dedicated to leading a vibrant ministry for students in grades 6–12, helping them grow in their faith, build lasting relationships, and live out the gospel in their everyday lives. The Student Pastor will shepherd students, partner with parents, and equip a team of volunteer leaders, all while implementing the vision and direction of the NextGen Pastor. We’re looking for a leader who is deeply committed to Christ, relationally engaging, and eager to develop a disciple-making culture among the next generation.

Job Title: Student Pastor
Reports To: NextGen Pastor
Job Status: Full-Time; Salaried + Benefits
Purpose: The Student Pastor will be responsible for developing, coordinating and administering an effective and comprehensive ministry to students in grades 6-12. The Student Pastor will incorporate and implement the vision and direction set forth by the NextGen Pastor. This includes ministering to students, their parents, and the adult team of lay leaders.
Qualifications: .
1. A clear testimony of faith in Jesus Christ and a vital, growing personal relationship with Him.
2. Demonstrates the Biblical qualifications of an Elder as outlined in 1 Timothy 3:1-7; Titus 1:5-9; 1 Peter 5:1-4
3. Commitment to moral purity and abstinence from alcohol
4. Dedication to the purpose, plans, and priorities of Brushy Creek.
5. Fully supportive of the Baptist Faith and Message 2000, as well as the Constitution and By-Laws of Brushy Creek Baptist Church.
6. Skilled in organization, administration, leadership development, and interpersonal relationships.
7. Hold a Seminary degree or is actively pursuing one; an undergraduate degree is required.
8. 3-5 years of leadership experience in a medium-to-large church setting.

3. A team player with a positive attitude, who can foster seamless integration and grow a team of staff and volunteers.

6. Has a sense of humor, able to laugh at himself
7. Insightful and able to implement and improve systems and processes within his ministry.
8. Capable of planning and preaching to large groups of kids and students with conviction and enthusiasm.
9. Able to develop and grow a cohesive team
Responsibilities and Duties:
1. Serves as the main communicator of God’s Word on a weekly basis on Wednesdays and Sundays.
2. Must plan and execute biblically accurate, culturally relevant, and high energy services for middle and high school students.
3. Oversees and manages weekly programming for Wednesdays and Sundays for middle and high school students.
4. Must be responsible for implementing the vision and direction of the NextGen Pastor for every program and discipleship process in the student ministry.
5. Coordinate and plan all student events, activities, and outings, including summer mission trips, student weekend experiences, and summer camps.
6. Recruit, train, and encourage adult volunteer leaders (life group teachers, Wednesday/Sunday volunteers, trip/camp chaperones, etc.). Lead each volunteer through the Brushy Creek Volunteer process.
7. Provide pastoral care and shepherding to all middle and high school students and their families.
8. Regularly attends and speaks at local and private/charter school events.
9. Oversee lead and guide the associate student pastor
10. Other duties as appointed by NexGen Pastor
