The Senior Pastor leads the church in fulfilling its mission by preaching, teaching, shepherding members, and overseeing ministry operations. This role provides spiritual guidance, organizational leadership, and community engagement.
Key Responsibilities
1. Spiritual Leadership
- Provide biblical teaching through sermons, Bible studies, and discipleship
- Lead the congregation in spiritual growth and development
- Oversee worship services and ensure they align with church doctrine
2. Vision & Strategy
- Develop and communicate the church’s mission, vision, and goals
- Lead strategic planning and ministry direction
- Inspire and equip leaders to carry out the church’s vision
3. Pastoral Care
- Offer counseling, support, and prayer for members
- Conduct weddings, funerals, baptisms, and other ceremonies
- Visit members in homes, hospitals, or care facilities as needed
4. Leadership & Administration
- Supervise church staff and ministry leaders
- Work with the board/elders on governance and decision-making
- Oversee budgeting, financial stewardship, and resource allocation
5. Community Engagement
- Represent the church in the local community
- Build relationships with other churches and organizations
- Lead outreach and evangelism efforts
