Children’s Director

About this role

The role of the Kids Ministry Director is to introduce kids to Jesus, disciple them, and equip them to world changers for Jesus. The Kids Ministry Director is not the one responsible for the spiritual growth of kids. We as a church believe that the parents are. Because of this the Kid’s Ministry Director also equips parents/guardians to disciple their children. The Kid’s Ministry Director is responsible for providing planning, promoting, and coordinating assistance and direction for all education and activities for preschool through fifth grade. 

Primary responsibilities and task of the Kids ministry director 

• Oversee all ministry activities for children (ages birth-5th grade), including Sunday mornings and special events. 
• Teaching and preaching in children’s worship services.  
• Choose and lead the preparation of age-appropriate curriculum for each age level. 
• Create programming and engaging actives for each age group that facilitate learning and encourage spiritual growth. 
• Recruit, train, and schedule teams of children’s ministry volunteers. 
• Plan, schedule, and oversee special events such as Baby Dedications, Family Nights, VBS, etc. 
• Provide pastoral care to children and families in the church, including hospital visits, follow up, and counseling. 
• Manage smooth check-in procedures on Sundays and track weekly children’s ministry attendance.

• Maintain God-ordained priorities in your life by putting Jesus Christ first, your spouse second, your children their and the ministry fourth.  
• Give to the mission of NewLife Church
• Be loyal to the vision and staff of of NewLife and always protect the unity of the church. 
• Demonstrate a Christ-like attitude through all interactions with congregation, staff, and volunteers. 
• Be the fingerprint of Jesus in the community.
