Win for This Role:

The Central Kids Pastor will provide full-time leadership for all Journey Kids environments (birth–5th grade) across all campuses, with direct responsibility at the Avon Campus. This role is focused on building engaging, gospel-centered Sunday experiences, developing strong volunteer teams, and partnering with families to support spiritual growth both in church and at home. The Central Kids Pastor will help shape curriculum, oversee safety protocols, and lead key events and communication efforts.


Primary Responsibilities: 

  • Foster a fun, welcoming, and safe environment where every child is seen, known, loved, and learns about God.
  • Oversee dynamic, age-appropriate weekly services for all kids classrooms (birth–5th grade).
  • Recruit, train, and encourage a strong team of adult and student volunteers.
  • Ensure consistency in curriculum, worship, and service flow across campuses.
  • Provide direct leadership to Kids directors and Dream Team at the Avon Campus.
  • Uphold and manage safety protocols, check-in/check-out systems, and security standards.
  • Lead consistent team nights or gatherings to grow culture, vision, and capacity.
  • Communicate regularly with parents, provide them spiritual resources and practical next steps for families, and partner with them to reinforce spiritual growth outside the church.
  • Plan and lead seasonal events such as VBS, Kids Camp, and Family Sundays.
  • Partner with other ministries for church-wide events to provide children’s ministry.
  • Work with the Creative department to ensure web and social media presence are current and engaging, share ministry updates, events, and stories regularly online, and provide digital content for at-home discipleship.



Additional Support (Avon Campus)

  • Assist with Sunday Dream Team leadership and support team culture.
  • Participate in campus-wide communication and special event efforts.
  • Provide pastoral care alongside the Campus Pastor as needed.


Requirements

  • Strong leadership skills with a passion for children's ministry.
  • Clear communicator and creative planner.
  • Spiritually mature and aligned with Journey Church’s doctrine and culture.
  • Able to lead independently while collaborating with cross-campus teams.

 

 

 

Compensation

·      Salary Range: $60,000 - $67,000 commensurate with experience
