Music & Worship Associate

Come lead worship with us on Sunday mornings! Our West Seattle Campus is looking for someone to craft thoughtful music and worship experiences for Sunday morning services.

Location: Bethany Community Church, West Seattle - 8600 9th Ave SW

Reports to: West Seattle Lead Pastor

FLSA Status: Non-exempt, Part-time, 10 hours

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Design and execute high-quality, engaging Sunday worship services in conjunction with the Lead Pastor, staff, and volunteer worship leaders.
• Develop the worship team, including music and A/V.
• Recruit, schedule, and collaborate for other service elements.
• Runs weekly rehearsals as needed and regular touchpoints with the volunteer team.
• Performs other duties as the situation requires or as assigned by the manager.

• Understanding and adherence to Bethany’s foundational beliefs in our outward-facing messaging.
• A loyal team player who is committed to the religious mission, values, and vision of Bethany Community Church.
• Skilled vocalist and instrumentalist, with the ability to lead humbly and dynamically from the stage alone and with others.
• Displays a high level of ownership and organizational skills, with experience in creating and implementing systems and processes.
• Respects, values, and celebrates diversity with a high level of cultural competency.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

OTHER SPECIFICATIONS

Work Schedule: Typical work schedule is Sunday through Thursday, 10 hours/week.

Physical Demands: Must be able to work in an office environment, often at a computer workstation. Must be able to move between buildings on campus. Must be able to lift small boxes and/or equipment up to 50lbs.

Working Conditions: Due to seasonal activity, job duties may often require additional hours and availability outside normal working hours. This position may require the flexibility to adjust the work schedule from time to time to work earlier or later than the typical schedule. You must be able to adapt your approach and priorities in real time based on shifting demands. We have non-smoking buildings and environments.

Compensation: $25/hour

Benefits: Sick Leave accrued at the rate of one hour per 40 hours worked.
