Children and Youth Pastor

Providence Baptist Church is seeking a passionate and Christ-centered Children and Youth Pastor to lead and invest in our Children’s (K–5) and Youth (6–12) Ministries. This individual will partner with the Senior Pastor, ministry leaders, and volunteers to disciple the next generation and help strengthen families through biblically grounded, engaging ministry.

We are looking for someone who has a heart for students and families, a passion for discipleship, and the ability to build meaningful relationships within the church and community.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide vision, leadership, and oversight for Children’s and Youth Ministries
• Plan and lead youth programming, including Sunday evening gatherings, Bible studies, special events, and summer camp opportunities
• Recruit, equip, encourage, and support volunteers serving in family ministries
• Partner with ministry councils and church leadership in planning, budgeting, and ministry development
• Communicate ministry goals, needs, and updates with church leadership and congregation
• Help promote ministry activities and outreach through church communication platforms and social media
• Assist with pastoral care, visitation, discipleship, and broader church leadership responsibilities as needed

Qualifications

• A strong and growing personal relationship with Jesus Christ
• A clear calling and passion for family, children’s, and youth discipleship
• Experience serving in children’s and/or youth ministry preferred
• Strong leadership, communication, and relational skills
• Ability to work collaboratively with church staff, volunteers, and ministry teams
• Bachelor’s degree required; seminary training preferred

Founded in 1826, Providence Baptist Church is a historic and growing congregation located in rural Eastern North Carolina near the beautiful Outer Banks. We are a diverse, multi-generational church committed to sharing the Gospel, discipling believers, and engaging the families of our community.
