The pastor would be responsible to fulfill the traditional role of the Christian pastor: preaching, pastoral care, and administration.

Preaching

• Preach biblically oriented sermons at the Sunday Morning Worship service and other special events

• Teach the mid-week bible study

• Officiate at weddings, funerals Pastoral Care • Visit our church family in homes, hospitals, and nursing facilities

• Provide crisis counseling, spiritual encouragement, and prayer support • Concentrate on building relationships with our church families and residents of the community Administration

• Supervise the ministry staff

• Meet with and give appropriate guidance to church committees • Offer strategies to meet the long-term resource needs of the congregation, including budget, facilities, and staff

We are seeking a man to fill the Senior Pastor position at First Baptist Church, Fitzgerald Georgia. Fitzgerald is a city of 9,000 residents in the southern part of the State. It is the county seat of Ben Hill County with a population of 17,000. The Church averages around 175 in Sunday School and 275 at Sunday Morning worship. We are a Christ-centered, mission-minded congregation that values biblical preaching, traditional Baptist worship, and community outreach. The staff includes a full-time Minister of Music and Youth, a part-time Director of Children’s Activities, an Administrative Assistant, and a part-time Administrator.
