About the Saint Mary's Episcopal Church

Our History

St. Mary’s Episcopal Church, established in 1888 and first opened in 1891, began as a summer chapel with clergy visiting from Boston. The church, built in Early Rural English style in memory of Mary Kearney Cobb, was consecrated in 1893. It became a year-round parish in 1928, growing into a vibrant campus with expanded facilities and beautifully crafted features, including hand-carved doors by Quentin R. Munson. St. Mary’s history is enriched by devoted clergy and parishioners, whose vision and generosity have shaped its spiritual and physical legacy.

Vision

St. Mary’s Episcopal Church is a thriving community where faith, love, and action come alive. We dream of a world where everyone feels seen, valued, and connected — where Jesus’ inclusive love inspires us to worship, serve, and transform together.

Purposeful Living: Discovering who we are as a congregation and boldly stepping into God’s call for us, here and now.

Joyful Stewardship: Sharing our gifts generously and joyfully to sustain a congregation that’s alive with possibility for generations to come.
