Pianist/Organist

Position Overview

The Pianist / Accompanist position will collaborate with the Lead Pastor to select and perform

appropriate music for worship services and special events. This role requires a skilled musician

with a deep understanding of liturgical music and the ability to enhance the worship experience

through music.

Essential Functions

 Work closely with the Lead Pastor to choose music that aligns with the themes and liturgical

calendar.

 Play the piano during worship services, including prelude, offertory, postlude, hymns, and other

musical selections.

 Accompany the Chancel Choir and other musical ensembles during rehearsals and

performances as requested.

 Participate in planning and executing special services and events, such as weddings,

funerals, and holiday celebrations (i.e. Ash Wednesday, Good Friday, Christmas Eve).

 Request regular preventive maintenance services to ensure musical instruments are in good

working condition.

Qualifications Required

 High school diploma / GED and two (2) years of relevant experience

 Proven experience as a church pianist or similar role

 Proficiency in playing the piano and other keyboard instruments, organ experience is desired

 Strong knowledge of liturgical music and hymnody

 Ability to collaborate effectively with church leadership, musicians, and choirs

 Excellent communication and organizational skills

 Commitment to spiritual leadership through music ministry.

 Demonstrated professionalism and strong work ethic

 Regular and reliable attendance
