Job Description

Church Description & Vision

Forefront Church is a multigenerational, independent, conservative Christian church with Baptist roots, averaging 120 in weekly attendance. We are affiliated with Converge Rocky Mountain and the American Baptist Conference. Our mission is simple and compelling: to help people find and follow Jesus.

We value outreach and evangelism, intentional discipleship, authentic fellowship, meaningful community, and the faithful teaching of God’s Word. Forefront is seeking a dedicated, spiritually mature pastor to lead our church family forward on mission for Christ.

The ideal candidate is a committed follower of Jesus Christ who is passionate about teaching Scripture, has a genuine burden for the lost and unchurched, and demonstrates proven leadership and vision-casting ability. He will shepherd God’s people with humility, compassion, and conviction, and be in full agreement with Forefront’s Statement of Faith.

The Spiritual Opportunity

The Denver metro area represents one of the most spiritually needy regions in the United States. While the city is growing rapidly and attracting people from across the country, many remain disconnected from the gospel and the local church. This is a mission field rich with opportunity.

Forefront Church is positioned to make a meaningful impact by proclaiming biblical truth, loving our community well, and calling people to authentic discipleship. We are seeking a pastor who senses God’s call to labor faithfully in a challenging but rewarding spiritual environment—one where gospel clarity, relational ministry, and courageous leadership are deeply needed.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary leader in creating and casting a compelling, Christ-centered vision that keeps Forefront on mission
  • Plan and coordinate all aspects of the Sunday worship experience
  • Provide strong, biblical preaching and teaching rooted in Scripture
  • Offer spiritual guidance, pastoral care, and counseling to members of all ages
  • Oversee church staff and ministry leaders while working closely with the elders
  • Champion outreach and discipleship initiatives that align with the church’s mission

Qualifications

  • A clear calling to pastoral ministry and to leading God’s church on mission
  • Bible college and/or seminary degree highly desirable
  • Proven leadership experience in a church setting (previous Lead Pastor experience not required)
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Experience in pastoral care and counseling
  • A philosophy of ministry consistent with Forefront’s mission and theological convictions

Life in the Denver Area

Denver offers an exceptional quality of life with access to world-class outdoor recreation, vibrant neighborhoods, and a strong sense of community. From the Rocky Mountains to cultural arts, professional sports, and family-friendly amenities, the region provides a healthy balance of ministry opportunity and personal refreshment.

For pastors and families alike, Denver combines natural beauty, economic stability, and cultural diversity—making it an outstanding place to live, serve, and build long-term ministry roots.
