Hazleton Community Church is prayerfully seeking applications for a Lead Pastor. This position will start as a Part-Time position with hopes of possibly growing into a Full Time position. Bi-vocational applicants will be accepted. We are a former UMC, newly re-established as a non-denominational church with with a heart for loving God and loving people.
Our church and congregation has been serving this community for many years. We are located in Hazleton, Indiana- a rural area of Northern Gibson County that borders Pike County . Our small but mighty congregation has a desire and a strong history of a variety of outreach missions and events geared towards our community.. We are a loving congregation with all ages of children, young adults, growing families, multi-generational families, retirees, and a senior population from various areas and counties with a typical attendance of around 45 people.
We are seeking applicants with a deep love for Jesus to shepherd our congregation with clarity, conviction, love, and grace through biblically based teachings that align with our doctrine. We desire applicants that demonstrate a personal lifestyle which serves as a model for the congregation who will grow with our church family both spiritually and in numbers. We desire someone who is energetic, motivated, approachable, passionate, and most importantly a strong passion to truly be the hands and feet of Jesus Christ. Experience is helpful, but we are prayerful and seeking God's direction for the right person for this position.
Pastoral responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Lead in the Development and direction of Hazleton Community Church
Plan, prepare, and deliver a weekly biblically sound sermon consistent with HCC's doctrine and statement of Faith.
Provide regular visitation, mentoring, and counseling throughout the congregation and community with a specific focus on those who are elderly, widowed, ill, and any individuals in which visits are warranted.
Develop and encourage member participation in church activities.
Able to conduct Baptisms, Funerals, and Weddings for individuals within the congregation as requested
Assist in scheduling Fill in Speakers for Sundays during absences when possible.
Work closely with the board and participate in church business and planning meetings where applicable.
Be willing to assist and be involved in community missions.
Be involved in special programs such as Christmas/Lenten/Easter services, etc.
