Job Overview
The City Director is responsible for leading the local efforts of Love Life to mobilize and expand the life-affirming movement within their community. The City Director will recruit, engage, and support partnering churches and businesses, manage adoption weeks, lead prayer walks, and develop key volunteers. Fundraising is a key component of this role, and Love Life will provide coaching and support to ensure success. The City Director will also maintain relationships with churches and local leaders, execute ministry initiatives, and report progress to the City Catalyst or Regional Shepherd.
Key Responsibilities
- Recruit Churches and Pastors:
- Recruit churches for Adoption Weeks, Youth for Life, and Week 40 Celebrate Life events.
- Recruit pastors for 1-Hour Journeys, Adoption Weeks, and House of Refuge events.
- Lead Ministry Initiatives:
- Lead 1-Hour Journeys each week.
- Ensure Adoption Weeks are executed effectively in conjunction with partnering churches.
- Work with staff and volunteers to successfully execute Sunday Launches for Adoption Weeks.
- Ensure adopting churches are being adequately communicated with during their adoption week.
- Prayer Walks and Volunteer Development:
- Lead Prayer Walks on a monthly basis.
- Recruit, develop, and equip volunteers to serve in various capacities.
- Strengthen Relationships:
- Foster and strengthen relationships with partnering churches, ministries, business leaders, and influencers within the community.
- Fundraising:
- Fundraising is a key responsibility in this role. The City Director will work closely with the Love Life team to recruit churches and business leaders to financially invest in Love Life’s mission.
- Love Life will provide coaching and all necessary support to help the City Director be successful in raising funds.
- Directly responsible for securing personal financial support to sustain own ministry position and contribute to the overall growth of our organization.
- This is a unique opportunity to fully dedicate your time to ministry while actively engaging with supporters to build long-term relationships and secure necessary funding for the mission and vision of Love Life.
- Complete and submit weekly reports as required.
- Manage and control budget and expenses.
- Sidewalk Outreach:
- Oversee the development and execution of a sidewalk outreach team, including recruiting and training a Sidewalk Outreach Leader and volunteers.
- Other Duties as Needed:
- Perform any other tasks and responsibilities that contribute to the overall success of Love Life in the city.
Qualifications
- Strong passion for the life-affirming movement and the mission of Love Life.
- A mature believer in Christ, with a heart for ministry and the ability to lead others in faith.
- Some seasoned ministry experience and/or business leadership background preferred.
- Proven ability to lead and manage volunteers and church partnerships.
- Experience in ministry or church leadership is preferred.
- Strong communication skills and ability to engage church leaders, business leaders, and volunteers.
- Experience or willingness to engage in fundraising and development, with coaching and support from Love Life.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
- A heart for prayer and dedication to leading others in spiritual growth.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends for events.
