Position Title: Youth Ministry Coordinator (Part-Time)

Reports To: Associate Pastor

Hours: 20-25 hours per week (salaried)

Compensation: $30,000 annual salary


Position Summary: The Youth Ministry Coordinator will provide leadership, organization, and relational ministry for youth in grades 6–12. This role focuses on cultivating a welcoming, Christ-centered environment where students can grow in faith, build meaningful relationships, and actively participate in the life of the church. The coordinator will collaborate with church staff, volunteers, and families to support a vibrant and sustainable youth ministry.


Schedule Expectations:

● Sunday morning availability required (8:15 AM–12:15 PM) and monthly evening events.

● Remaining hours are flexible throughout the week

● Some evening, additional weekday and weekend hours required for youth programming, events, retreats, and special services.


Key Responsibilities:

Relational Ministry & Discipleship

● Build meaningful relationships with youth and their families

● Create a safe, inclusive, and engaging environment for all students

● Encourage youth participation in worship, service, and church life

● Support students in their spiritual growth and faith development

● Recruit, train, and support adult volunteers


Program Leadership & Coordination

● Plan, coordinate, and lead youth gatherings

● Assist in developing curriculum and faith formation opportunities

● Coordinate events such as retreats, camp, service projects, and social gatherings

● Ensure Safe Sanctuary policies and procedures are followed


Qualifications:

● An active Christian faith, in line with United Methodist theology

● Passion for working with middle and high school students

● Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills

● Ability to work both independently and collaboratively

● Experience in youth ministry or working with youth preferred
