Job Summary: The Communications & Media Coordinator is responsible for coordinating and executing Northlake Christian Church's internal and external communications through digital, print, and social media platforms. This position develops engaging communication materials, maintains the church's visual identity, supports ministry promotion, and helps ensure timely, consistent communication with the congregation, guests, and community.

Responsibilities:
1. Communications Planning & Coordination:
· Coordinate and maintain the church-wide communications calendar to support ministry events, worship services, and organizational priorities.
· Facilitate effective communication within the congregation and with external audiences.
· Coordinate communication timelines with ministry leaders to ensure information is submitted, reviewed, and published in a timely manner.
· Assist ministry leaders in developing communication plans for events, classes, and ministry initiatives.
· Coordinate communication requests from ministry leaders and prioritize projects based on organizational priorities.
2. Content Creation & Graphic Design
· Design and produce graphics, signage, presentation slides, promotional materials, and print pieces for worship services, ministries, and special events.
· Create engaging content for both digital and print communication platforms.
· Maintain consistent branding, messaging, and visual identity across all church communications.
· Ensure all communication materials are accurate, visually appealing, and aligned with the church's mission and values.
· Maintain digital files, templates, and graphic assets.
3. Digital Communications
· Manage and maintain the church website, ensuring information is accurate, current, and relevant.
· Manage the church's social media platforms, including content planning, scheduling, publishing, and audience engagement.
· Prepare and distribute communications through the church app, e-bulletin, email, and other digital platforms.
· Monitor digital communication channels and recommend improvements to increase engagement and effectiveness.
· Monitor website content and remove outdated information.
· Respond to or coordinate appropriate responses to comments and messages as directed.
4. Guest & Congregation Communications
· Coordinate follow-up communications with first-time guests and new attendees through approved communication channels.
· Support congregation-wide communication efforts related to ministry opportunities, events, and organizational updates.
· Ensure communications are welcoming, informative, and aligned with the church's mission.
5. Event Promotion
· Develop promotional campaigns for sermon series, ministry events, outreach opportunities, and church-wide initiatives.
· Coordinate with ministry leaders to gather information, create promotional materials, and ensure timely event promotion.
· Produce promotional graphics, digital assets, and printed materials to support ministry participation.
6. Internal Communication Support
· Support the Lead Pastor, staff, and ministry leaders with internal announcements and communication needs.
· Prepare and distribute recurring church communications, including the weekly e-bulletin and other organizational announcements.
· Incorporate financial updates, such as General Fund Giving versus Budget, provided by the Financial Administrator into church communications.
· Assist with communication projects and special initiatives as assigned.
7. Brand & Communication Standards
· Maintain consistent branding standards across all communication channels and ministry materials.
· Review communication content for clarity, accuracy, grammar, and consistency.
· Maintain communication templates, graphic assets, and branding resources for ministry use.
· Respond to or coordinate appropriate responses to comments and messages as directed.
Qualifications:
Technical Skills
· Proficiency in graphic design software such as Canva or Adobe Creative Suite.
Knowledge
Professional Skills
· Excellent written, verbal, editing, and proofreading skills.
Education and Experience:
A degree in communications, graphic design, marketing, or related field is preferred but not required. Experience in communications or graphic design, ideally in a church or non-profit setting, is preferred.
